Deonarine facing rape allegations in England
West Indies 'A' team vice-captain Narsingh Deonarine cricketer has been arrested in England on suspicion of raping a 16-year-old girl.
According to the North-West Evening News, the Guyanese all-rounder Deonarine was picked up in the the early hours of Sunday June 3 and questioned about the allegations.
Following his arrest, the 23-year-old was bailed to appear at Workington police station. No charges have been brought against him.
The paper said Deonarine is due to answer bail again at Workington police station on June 21.
Deonarine is in England playing as the resident professional for the Millom Cricket Club.
Efforts to contact the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for comment were not successful.
