Parchment gets call for Zimbabwe tour
Jamaican opener Brenton Parchment has won a call-up to the West Indies team for the upcoming five-match ODI tour of Zimbabwe. Parchment joins Devon Smith and captain Chris Gayle as the three openers chosen for the tour.
The team, picked only for the Zimbabwe one-dayers, also sees the return of middle-order batsman Marlon Samuels. Leg-spinner Rawl Lewis also finds a place but, surprisingly, there is no place for pacer Pedro Collins.
Parchment is coming off a decent, though not spectacular, KFC Cup 2007 campaign where he averaged 38.50 for the champion Jamaica team. Overall, he averages 32.34 in 28 List-A matches.TEAM FOR ZIMBABWE LEG ONLY:
