After many missed deadlines and broken promises, the WICB says its cricket academy -- now being called a High Performance Centre -- should become a reality by the middle of 2009. According to this CMC story, the Barbados-based HPC will be opened in March with the first intake of attendees expected by the second quarter of the year. The WICB is discussing partnerships with regional governments to establish territorial satellite academies with Guyana, Dominica and St Kitts and Nevis indicating interest.
