WICB academy reports 'swept under the table'
Former head of the West Indies Cricket Board's (WICB) academy Dr Rudi Webster says the board routinely ignored his warnings about the inability of some young players to read and write. From the article: "What was the disappointing thing about the academy was that the reports that were given to the board were never distributed. "All of the problems we are seeing now, I highlighted at the academy – the lack of discipline, the lack of motivation, a different set of priorities, the value system was different, the fellows were unfit, most of them could not read or write."There were serious, serious problems. When these were drawn to the attention of the people in charge, they just swept them under the table."
