WICB fires John Dyson
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has terminated the contract of head coach John Dyson with immediate effect.
The board did not offer an explanation for the dismissal. Assistant coach David Williams will take over on a temporary basis for the ICC Champions Trophy. Strangely, the WICB has also replaced team manager Omar Khan for the tournament.
The WICB said off-spinner Lance Gibbs will serve as manager because of the "special circumstances" of the tournament, which is scheduled for South Africa in September and October.Khan has been temporarily assigned to the preparation and management of the West Indies Under-19 team for the International Cricket Council’s Youth World Cup in New Zealand in 2010.
Chief selector Clyde Butts will accompany the West Indies replacement team to South Africa.
