Is it finally settled -- again?

News is seeping out from around the region and beyond (Barbados Advocate, Jamaica Observer, Reuters India) that the months long impasse between the players and the Board might be nearing its latest completion. The West Indies Players Association's website is announcing in a "joint statement" -- which has not yet appeared on the WICB's site -- that "nearly all outstanding matters in dispute between the two bodies have been settled amicably".

The statement says that "only two outstanding matters - the issue regarding the India 2009 Tour and the issue of 'Team Rights' - will be referred to a special arbitration process as set out in the recommendations of the CARICOM Prime Ministerial Sub Committee on Cricket given on the 11th September 2009 and agreed to by the WICB and WIPA."
