Malcolm Marshall to be remembered

Birmingham, England - West Indies cricket great Malcolm Marshall will be commemorated in a memorial match during the August Bank Holiday period, as part of a series of cultural events in Birmingham.

Set to take place on Sunday, August 25, the match will pit a Sir Vivian Richards XI against a Professional Cricketers XI at Birmingham’s Handsworth Cricket Ground, in memory of one of the legends of cricket.

Marshall was one of the world’s most feared fast-bowlers during the 80s taking more than 370 wickets at an average of Test bowling average of 20.94.

English cricket lovers will know him best from his devastating at Old Trafford, where he picked up seven wickets for just 22 runs against England in 1988.
