Super 50 team claims final practice match
HAVING lost the first day/night and fourth practice fixture to the Rest XI last Tuesday night, the Christopher Barnwell led National XI returned to the Guyana National Stadium, Providence last Friday night to take the final practice encounter by 5 runs, under the Duckworth/Lewis Method.This time around, they were indebted to some incisive fast bowling from Ronsford Beaton who took 3 for 30 and Barnwell’s 2 for 29, to reduce the Rest XI to 194 for 8 from their 50 overs. Skipper Sewnarine Chattergoon led the way with a knock of 74 off (110balls, 9×4, 1×6), while Assad Fudadin made 46.

Left-handed opener Evin Lewis and right-handed middle-order batsman Jason Mohammed geared up for the NAGICO Super50 with half-centuries in Saturday’s North/South 50-over match at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
South won by 30 runs.
