Richard Pybus, the Englishman who is the West Indies Cricket Board's director of cricket for the next three years or so, has turned up with some words of wisdom before the start of the regional four-day tournament recently.

As the man who is expected to streamline West Indies cricket, in an effort to make it better, from schools to Test level, Pybus said, loud and clear, for all to hear, that his responsibility is to ensure that the domestic cricketers in the region get a greater volume of matches to develop the skills that prepare them for the rigours of international cricket.
