Gayle to be honoured at WIPA/WICB player awards ceremony

JAMAICA and West Indies star batsman Christopher Henry Gayle is set to be the toast of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB)/West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) Annual Players Awards Ceremony, which will take place on June 5 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, according to the Jamaica Observer.
The 34-year-old hard-hitting left-hand opener is expected to make his 100th Test appearance in Jamaica against New Zealand, who will tour the Caribbean from June 8 to July 6.

The 11th staging of the awards ceremony is being hosted jointly by both associations for the second time, and was officially launched at Eden Gardens yesterday.
