Warriors best Hawksbills

Marlon Samuels hit the fastest Limacol Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 century off just 50 balls but that still was not enough to give the Antigua Hawksbills any satisfaction in the second edition of the tournament as they lost to the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 19 runs at Warner Park in St Kitts yesterday.

Batting first, the Guyana Amazon Warriors piled up 212 for five off their 20 overs with New Zealand’s Martin Guptill hitting 90 off 51 balls Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies Test captain Denesh Ramdin slamming a 34-ball 51.

Holder burst seals Tridents' win

A half-century from Raymon Reifer and a four-wicket burst from Jason Holder propelled Barbados Tridents to a 69-run victory and into the top half of the Caribbean Premier League in St. Kitts. Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel missed out on the opportunity to pass Jamaica Tallawahs and claim No. 1 spot in the competition.
