Omar Phillips injury: Brain damage ruled out after former West Indies batsman struck on the head
Former West Indies batsman Omar Phillips has suffered no brain damage after being struck at the back of the head on Friday.
The 28-year-old was at the non-striker's end when Shai Hope's shot hit him on the head during a Professional Cricket League match between the Barbados Pride and the Windward Islands Volcanoes at Arnos Vale.
Phillips became unconscious on the field before a doctor rushed to the scene. He was then taken to hospital in an ambulance, accompanied by the team physio.
