PCL Round 8 day 4
Kieron Pollard’s maiden first-class five wicket haul could not stop the Windward Islands Volcanoes from completing an easy 175-run win over Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on the final day of their WICB Professional Cricket League four-day match at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, yesterday.
The Windwards were on top for most of the match and that did not change yesterday even after Pollard’s five for 36 helped dismiss the visitors for 249 in the first hour after they resumed their innings from an overnight 199 for five. Romel Currency hit his second half century of the match for the visitors, finishing unbeaten on 66 off 159 balls. He hit eight fours.
