WI must beat UAE, weather and then watch

Unlike UAE, who have nothing to lose, West Indies’ chances of making it to the final eight depend a great deal on the weather, as a washout would mean a flight home.

Even a win might not be enough for West Indies depending on how the Ireland v Pakistan game pans out, as West Indies go into the UAE match two points behind both those teams, with all three sides in contention for the remaining two quarterfinal spots from Pool B.

A win for West Indies should boost their chances, although it would then come down to the difference in net run-rates, with either West Indies or the losers of the Ireland-Pakistan game making it to the knockouts.
