LICA Cancels Senior Tournament

There will be no senior Leeward Islands cricket competition in 2015.

This is according to the President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA), Auckland Hector, who confirmed reports that the sub-regional tournament, originally slated to start in July, has been cancelled.

Hector, who resides in St Kitts, cited a number of reasons for the cancellation, stating that organisers had wished to have the tournament ahead of the WICB’s Professional Cricket League (PCL) Draft held in June and will move to re-position the schedule for May and April in 2016.

This, he said, would have given LICA more time to prepare a squad going into the PCL
