Justice Lodha claimed that the players remain unaffected by the judgement and were free to play in other teams. The IPL governing council could consider getting in two fresh teams for next year's IPL with a fresh bidding process for the teams. With IPL having provisions to feature as many as 10 teams, should the banned franchises return in two years' time - the tournament can continue as a 10-team affair.

However, this could necessitate fresh auctions and brand recall of the the franchise and teams will severely be affected.
