UWI capture BCA Elite division title as Pickwick are demoted

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 25 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Sagicor Life UWI inevitably captured their fifth top league BCA title following a nine-wicket win over Sierka Rentals Maple at 3Ws Oval on the final day of the 2015 season.
And as was also predicted, ESA Field Pickwick have been demoted for the first time after drawing with last year's champions ICBL Empire in a desperate late bid for a win at Bank Hall.
UWI went into the last round of the ten-ten Elite division Championship at the top of the table on 119 points - three ahead of the only other title contenders Brathwaite Construction/Crane Resort St. Catherine, who drew with Massy United Insurance Wildey at the SJPP ground.
With rock-bottom Guardian General Barbados Youth exempt from demotion, Maple (56) and Pickwick (52) were under pressure to avoid relegation after the penultimate series.
