Brathwaite fifty puts Barbados into final
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, January 21 - (www.bcacricket.org) -
Veteran left-arm spinner Benn grabbed four wickets and West Indies Test opener Kraigg Brathwaite hit a solid, unbeaten half-century as Barbados Pride romped to an unprecedented 19th regional one-day Final with a seven-wicket demolition of Windward Islands Volcanoes in the second Day/Night semi-final match of the NAGICO Super50 at Queen's Park Oval today.
Displaying his vast experience on a helpful pitch for spinners, Player-of-the-Match Benn took four for 27 off ten overs to trigger a collapse after Volcanoes, who won the toss, had reached 76 for one by the end of the 19th over.
At 34 years, 183 days, the oldest player in the match, Benn outfoxed the second oldest - Devon Smith (34 years, 92 days) with the first ball of the 20th over, for what turned out to be the topscore of 44 off 59 balls with five fours and one six.
