Barbados vs Leeward Islandads
Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 12 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Barbados Pride were 101 for three off 36 overs in reply to a first innings total of 377 all out in 157.5 overs by Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the close of play on the second day of the first round Digicel regional PCL first-class match at Warner Park today.
The not out batsmen were Shamarh Brooks on 22 and nightwatchman Jomel Warrican, one.
Dimissed were Anthony Alleyne (19), his opening partner Omar Phillips (24) and Roston Chase (22).
Nkrumah Bonner, who started the day on 71, topscored with 94 after the Leewards resumed on 210 for five off 94 overs.
Jamaican Bonner batted for 317 minutes, faced 254 balls and struck 11 boundaries.
Prime Time dismantles Windward Islands
Roshon Primus signalled his arrival at the First Class level with with a sensational spell that yielded six wickets for 30 runs to give the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force the upper hand against the Windward Islands Volcanoes in the opening match of the Digicel 4-Day tournament at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain.
Experienced opening batsman, Devon Smith was the only Windward Islands batsman to survive Primus’ assault. The former West Indies player finished unbeaten on 84 as the Volcanoes were dismissed for 142. The Red Force were 139 for five at the close of the first day’s play. Jason Mohammed was unbeaten on 30 and Steven Katwaroo on 13 not out, after Kyle Hope laid the foundation with a knock of 56.
Permaul, Motie combine to rout Jamaica Scorpions for 208
LEFT-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul claimed his 19th five-wicket haul in first class cricket and became the fifth bowler to take 300 wickets in the modern version of the Regional Four-Day Championship, to put Guyana Jaguars in control of their opening round game against Jamaica Scorpions at the Providence Stadium yesterday..
Defending their first innings total of 298, Jaguars bundled out Scorpions for an inadequate 208 in reply, with Permaul finishing with five for 60 and fellow left-arm spinner, Gudakesh Motie, picking up four for 61.
Together, they combined to wreck the visitors innings which appeared in great shape at 113 for one.
