West Indies getting rid of Ottis Gibson as coach was not surprising considering their poor recent results but the timing, as usual, was a little bizarre. 

The West Indies Cricket Board announced on Tuesday it had “mutually agreed to terminate their association” on the eve of the one-day international against Bangladesh. West Indies won by three wickets, but the main talking point was Gibson’s departure. Bangladesh are such a weak team that West Indies at home should not lose under any circumstances. The board should have parted company with Gibson a week earlier to avoid distractions. 

His departure will get Shiv, Sarwan and Deonarine back into all formats.

Well, I doubt that, Sarwan is done and Deo has a lot to sort out. Shiv is an old man and he is being protected by only playing him in Test. The future belongs to Johnson, Blackwood, Kraig B, Powell, Russell, Ambris and Holder.

It would be nice if most of the so called Sports Journalist in the Region come to this realization ,
and individually & collectively
summoned up their testicular fortitude , that obviously is provided that they do indeed have testicular fortitude .

Frankly I aint about to hold my
breath .What we have in Regional Cricket is an Administration of
BLIND MEN ; leading another group
of BLIND MEN .

What is truly sad is that all the
musical chairs and changes have not done much to improve Cricket in the Region .

Congratulations ; however don't expect to get many on your Post .
Most of the people in this Forum , like most people in this Region do not like to hear the Truth ,maybe they are allergic to the Truth .

I do think however that if all our
Players in the Region play more matches in the longer versions of the game at the Regional level they will all improve to the point
where it wouldn't matter who goes
to the IPL et al . The Players will be competitive .

It is abysmal ; why ??? because the
standard of Cricket in the Region isn't good .YOU & OTHERS need to
have a holistic approach to Regional Cricket ,rather than
focusing on who decides to enrich
themselves playing Global Cricket
in the shortest version of the game .

That is true ; but then that begs this question ; What has those in
in the governance of Cricket in the
Region done to harness ; enhance ;
& hone our Players in the longer versions of the Game ???

The reason why I cite the longer
versions , is because they require
much more skills than Lick it Cricket . Once those skills are acquired , the shortest version of the game becomes very easy .

Maybe if the WI cricket board would get creative and spice it up a little for the spectators, you would see an improvement in attendance. They need to take a leaf from the book of baseball and other sports in the US.

Attendance at non international games all over the cricketing world are down, mostly because the entertainment value is low and life have become more challenging for most people, therefore they have less leisure time.

are devoid of Creativity , Vision
; Foresight ; or any attributes that will improve Cricket in the
Region.


When you are your own bosses ,and
your headquarters states that Governments must not interfere with
what you are doing , what incentive is there to be creative;
have vision or foresight ?????????
FYI the answer is : NONE .

WE are therefore saddled with these glorified Peacocks ,who relish in being incompetent , inept ,and lacking in Transparency
,Accountability & Responsibility .

It is the competitiveness of a Team
that ensures good attendance at
matches .

Important also is the time & schedules of matches . When our
Players & Team were the best in the world that was not a Problem .

PEOPLE LOVE WINNERS ; if those in the governance of Cricket in the
Region want crowd coming to the various matches in the Region it
is incumbent on them to make our
Players & Team very competitive.

There aint no freaking shortcuts
to doing this . Yes money will have to be spent ; but in a short
period of time that money will be
easily recouped .However it seems
that people don't want to do the
heavy lifting .

People had much more leisure time during the 80s and 90s POINT. That also assisted spectator support.
