The ICC's recent concerted campaign against illegal actions has brought it into a position of significant professional disagreement with the agency long involved in its tests. Experts at the University of Western Australia (UWA), whom the ICC relied upon for the last 20 years to develop models and protocols to test illegal bowling actions, have criticised what they call the "ridiculous" secrecy surrounding the new procedures and say they have raised doubts over the reliability of the recent tests that have seen several bowlers suspended from various levels of the game.

The dispute provides a disturbing backdrop to the sudden toughened approach towards the monitoring of potentially illegal actions by the ICC only a few months before the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Leading offspinners such as Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal and Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senanayake have been called in international cricket, while West Indies' Sunil Narine was reported in the Champions League T20.

Both Shilly and Narine were tested in UWA . This has been the test site for the last 20 years and bowlers of recent vintage such as Lawson were tested there . The manner of the latest reporting has raised eyebrows not only in the Caribbean it seems.

Very interesting. UWA has been oute4d but seems to have the better methodology and arguments.

The possibility exists that the ICC's move to ban certain Players was done at the behest of the most powerful Countries in the ICC .

My perspective is that the ban was aimed essentially at Narine , others are merely collateral damage .

Let me once again state the fact that our Team had the fastest Bowlers in the World
when it was decided to introduce the 1 Bouncer per over Rule in Cricket .

WE had the best Team in the World , when England suddenly decided to ban ALL Overseas Players from playing Cricket in
England .


I cite these last two paragraphs to illustrate that in Cricket a lot of games that aint Cricket are played off the Field .I find it very interesting that these bans
have come just before the International 1
day Tournament .

like to call them as I see them . The problem is that they are not discerned by many in this Forum . Not that I give a

A Historical study of Cricket in the Region will show that some years after the Ban by England on ALL Overseas Players will show
that not only the standard of Cricket in the Region started falling ; the competitiveness of our Players started declining .

England knew this was going to happen ; unfortunately those in the governance of Cricket in the Region ,to this very day, are still unable to understand what needs to be done to make our Players fully competitive .

I invite you to look at the number of matches Players on Teams ranked above our Team have played in all formats of the game
& then compare that to the number of matches our Players have played .

The difference is not only stark , it graphically illustrates why our Players
are not as competitive as they can & should be .

This has an impact on our Players ability or inability to concentrate for long periods ; having Mental & Physical Stamina ; and the ability to pace an innings .

Unless our players get opportunities learn the above , WE will forever be floundering
at or near the bottom of International Cricket .
