Left-arm orthodox spinner Nikita Miller has been called up to the West Indies squad as a replacement for the injured Lendl Simmons for the remainder of the ODI series against India, team manager Richie Richardson said ahead of Friday's fourth ODI at Dharamsala. Miller will be flown in from Sri Lanka where he is representing the West Indies A team. The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) had earlier this week tweeted that Simmons, who did not play the Kochi and Delhi matches on account of a back injury, will return home.
"We have decided to replace Lendll Simmons with Nikita Miller. Initially, it was assumed that Simmons would recover in time but it was later revealed that the injury was more serious than it seemed. So we had to fly him home." Richardson said on Thursday.

In reply to openning... I wouldn't argue on the format, just that Miller brings a bit a batting and is near by. Is Badree in SL.

They just don't want Shilly to be call again.
Andrew Mason wanted two spinners when the team was selected, now he will get what he was asking for.
having two lefties is like having, Bravo, Pollard, Smith, Sammy and Russell in either an ODI or a test team.

The original team selection had
2 openers in simmons and matrix
4 middle order bats in lil b, samuels, johnson, & pollard
1 keeper in ramdin
3 all rounders in captain bravo, russell, & sammy
1 spinner in benn
4 fast bowlers in roach, taylor, rampaul & holder
so that's 6 batsmen, 3 allrounders, a keeper, and 5 bowlers
the batting collapsed in the last game to lose 7 wickets for 40 runs
the bowlers bowled india out for under 200 in the first ODI and restricted them to a respectable 250 runs in the 2nd
Simmons....a batsman....now out injured. Team down to 5 batsmen. They still have 5 specialist bowlers.
So what do they do? Add a 6th specialist bowler
You couldn't make this shit up

Why pick Johnson if you are not going to play him, I have no problem with the selection with only two matches left and Miller is playing in SL.

Bro, look at the bowlers playing.
Sammy, Pollard, Bravo, Samuels and Russell are diving 20 0vers between then, leaving out of form Rampaul, Taylor and Benn to do the work.
This team should be selected for T20, not ODI.

They're correcting a mistake made in selecting the squad...it should've had two spinners from the beginning.
Granted, sending another left-arm spinner is a bit nonsensical...I would've sent a leggie, like Bishoo.

some of you need help..what if the selectors realized that they made a mistake by not bringing a back up spinner and now they have a chance to correct it?
