Former West Indies cricketer Daren Ganga called the West Indies’ pullout of the India series “very unfortunate” and called for a full investigation into the issues that brought about the abandonment of the tour.

Contacted yesterday by the Daily Express, Ganga said as a former West Indies opening batsman and West Indies Players Association executive member, any circumstance which involved players prematurely leaving a tour because of strike action is a huge deal.

“I am not in a position to apportion blame or point fingers at any side, but I think I would like to understand the rationale behind such a decision (the decision by the players to withdraw mid-tour),” Ganga said.

Surely Ganga will pull out all the stops to scare up a WIPA button down shirt for him. ..

Ganga is right. When Bravo answers this call we will know if there is really any further investigation necessary, and if do, how much.

Ganga now places the ball in the court of WICB but insists the first - and maybe sole - witness is Bravo. Let's hear how he tries to defend his crippling action.

I think Ganga should ask his running mate Dinas to provide the reasons, cuz I am sure Bravo not very sure, not to mention the rest of the players.

WICB rightly stated they deal with WIPA not individual players

If the players don't like their representative, they should vote him out .
Once the new rep is in place, negotiations can move forward with the WICB

What Bravo did was ignore the chain of command and jeopardize WI cricket.

You don't have to like the WICB to see this wasn't right.

Hey Raskil - You could not have said it better. This is the point I was making from this fiasco started. Bravo acted downright unprofessional and selfish. What is even more disappointing is that he claims to be a leader and other senior players followed him blindly - Can't think for themselves. Only Samuel at this moment spoke out against the strike. Ganga is been diplomatic but is is right. If you read between the lines he was against the strike.

WICB is struggling financially and is literally broke and this dilemma will sink them even further more. Did arrogant Bravo and his counterparts believe that a financially broke WICB in US$10 million in debt can now find more money to pay them after what just happen?????

Who is Bravo but a player represented by the WIPA?
Why didn't the players fight their internal battle with their own leadership in which Bravo could then take over as their official leader and negotiator before taking such a disastrous decision?

Are members of the WIPA made up solely of these striking players? Who gave Bravo and them the authority to make that decision?

How many players pay dues and decided for Hinds to represent their cause?

As far as I am aware Bravo's letters were about the dispute with WIPA or more accurately with Hinds. I did not see the reasons he gave for leaving the tour in any of those letters.

Maybe but knowing your zest for accuracy I know you will post where in the letters Bravo states the reason for withdrawing from the tour. I am sure he did but I did not see.

WIPA your union makes the call, but unfortunately this was also a strike against the union. WI cricket is comedy central , should be renamed WI Globetrotters.
