West Indies One Day International (ODI) captain Dwayne Bravo yesterday discounted remarks by teammate Marlon Samuels that he wanted no part of the one-day team’s plan to pull out of the tour of India. Yesterday in a letter sent by the T&T allrounder to the media, he expressed his astonishment with remarks made by the Jamaican stroke-maker saying: “I note the comments attributed to Mr Marlon Samuels from media reports and wish to state that Mr Samuels was invited to and did attend the majority of meetings with the players on tour. “We extended an invitation to Mr Marlon Samuels with the full knowledge that he is not a member of WIPA (West Indies Players Association) but was an interested party. “Mr Samuels contributed vigorously to the discussions held and indicated clearly, at that time, that he would stand with any decision taken by the team. I am therefore shocked to see the statements, if true, that have been attributed to Mr Samuels.”

In reply to dayne Wasn't it Bravo who said all he cared about was Trinidad and IPL cricket? So what else did anyone expect from him. He should never have been selected captain. That's what got to his head!

Agree, Bravo is a spontaneous person, not much in depth thought goes into his decisions, not the right personality for captain in this time in WI cricket. However not much thought goes into the decisions made by Samuels also, so the exchange between the two is ironic.

there are some inaccuracies in the statement attributed to bravo

I will agree though, that in his original statement,the west indies was not top of his list of priorities.

He clarified that he said that with regard to the Support structure available for players which was misrepresented by media... But who cares

Bravo should have never been where he was in the first place. I am happy he fcuk the WIBC as his reward for giving him captaincy when he already say them last on his business agenda.
