West Indies Cricket Board president Dave Cameron said the regional body will be enlisting the support of Caricom (Caribbean Community) to meet the million-dollar demand for compensation by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the aborted tour of India last month.
The West Indies players, led by one-day captain Dwayne Bravo, withdrew their services after the fourth match of the one-day series on October 17 because of a pay dispute with the WICB and the players union, the West Indies Players Association (WIPA).

Really ? R E A L L Y ????
I know CARICOM is a joke but they should not give one red cent to this Papacy of a WICB.
At least hope Sista Pee of Jamaica does not. Although it is known that she as a puppet of PJ PAtteron who is involved with the WICB, will do anything he says.

WELL WELL WELL , Once again The Regional Governments have an opportunity to do a
COMPLETE RESTRUCTURING OF THE WICB ; THE
REGIONAL BOARDS & OPERATIONS AT FACTORY
ROAD .
I sincerely hope that they do not blow this opportunity .
BTW THE WHOLE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE
REGION MUST ANSWER TO A ENTITY THAT HAS
ULTIMATE POWER . IF THE ICC & THE WICB
DON'T LIKE THAT , THEY CAN ALL GO TO HELL .
They aint have any Stadia in the Region , they have no Law Enforcement Officers ;they have No Cricket Grounds .
THIS MUST BE A TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT DEAL
THOSE IN THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE
REGION HAVE DELIBERATELY RUN CRICKET IN
THE GROUND WITH THE HOPE & EXPECTATION
THAT THE REGIONAL GVERNMENTS WILL BAIL
THEM OUT . THEY MUST LEARN THAT THERE IS
NO SUCH THING AS A FREAKING FREE LUNCH .
For decades those in the governance of Cricket in the Region have treated Cricket
in the Region , like a Mauby Shop that was placed by a roadside overnight .
CRICKET IS A VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS ; THAT
REQUIRES THE BUSINESS OF CRICKET TO BE
TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY .

We've had done pretty bad administrations through the years at WICBC, but this one seems to not just take the cake, but the whole blasted bakery.
I knew Cameron was bad news, especially after that Digicel business, but he and his administration have been disastrous.
This administration made Hunte, Hilaire et al look like German football federation by comparison.
PHEW!

The regional governments have no in interest in restructing anything as they are all feeding from the trough. Don't be fooled by the posturing that they do; they like it as it is and this will be just another LOST opportunity.
As they say watch the ride

When will you and others finally come around to ask this basic question and demand and answer, here's the question:
Governments in the Caribbean are answerable to their people, corporations in the Caribbean are answerable to their shareholders, who does the WICB answer to and and what are the laws that protect them?
Did you know they are the only organization in the entire Caribbean that is answerable to no one?
Now go on coming up with solutions- none of which will work until a law is place to make the WICB accountable, answerable and responsible.

Caricom-CSME and Court of Appeal are together greater than Federation ever was. Wuh loss ?
The people of the region, ESPECIALLY the JAMAICANS were hoodwinked into this governmental entity.
But let us keep this as a cricket thread for now.

Listen , if you have a business that you were in control of for decades , because of Incompetence , lack of Accountability lack of Good Governance etc ;and you deliberately ran your business into the Ground . In return for my money you must agree to what
ever I state & want .
In essence I will put so many stricture on you , so that will rather fold than comply . Whe that happens I will replace you with a different Entity .
To quote a phrase from the Bible this Sunday morning :
" LO HOW THE MIGHTY HATH FALLEN "
If it was up to me I would make things very unpalatable to them , You see the Whole Word knows that the WICB ; the RegionalBoards ; ad Operations at Factory Road are A COLOSSAL JOKE .
There ant NO ONE out there who are going to lend them money that is why they are now coming to the Regional Governments with at in hand .

your best post
some good will come of this brouhaha, The Bandits will be force to adopt one of the numerous reports that they have commissioned and left lying on the shelf.
It will also signal the end of the cosy relationship with the BCCI.
In addition the players , the board and WIPA will have to up their game for good

No. Everyone said that this is as incompetent as all the previous managements. Afterall Cameron is part of the previous administration which was equally bad.

That is not true. A whole host of people acted as if there had been a kumbaya moment for WI cricket.
If you didn't realise it much of what goes on in the region is personality driven. As for being incompetent I'd hazard a guess that pretty much anyone given this dysfunctional structure to run will look stupid.

I don't recall saying that.
However, after Hunte Hilaire and krew, anything seemed to be an improvement. Even led by a shady character such as Cameron.
That sure proved to be wrong

Not for Jamaica but a WICB product, CPL. When Patterasson tell her to give them money she will.

Lol. Remind me of a kaiso of a politician saying he couldn't recall...
The WICB is not structured for anyone to look good doing this job.
It generates little or no revenue of its own, it faces an aggressive union, and the consensus of the board means everything takes an age to perform.
Ontop of that the sports governing body is like fifa and the ioc.

Not a red penny .Leave them to sort out their own mess.I personally cant believe they have the audacity to be asking CARICOM to give tax payers money to Hinda .If they had any balls they should be telling Hindia to take a jump.
Now is not the time to roll over to the bully boys show some grit ,and fight them in the court of law. While I can understand Hindia feeling aggrieved by the abandoning of the tour, it is a gross over-reaction on their part for demanding such a massive sum of money from a poor criketing board .

Dave Cameron said the regional body will be enlisting the support of Caricom
Hahahaha! Cameron has gone into meltdown now! I hope he takes the current Guyana Cricket Board with him too.
He needs to respond fast to the BCCI, stating (we know they are lies, but you have to do something "sensible" in these circumstances!):
1. The WICB is not at fault because of circumstances beyond its control (player revolt).
2. Even if the WICB could be assigned some blame, the US$42M is extremely inflated and needs to be reduced significantly.
3. We love allyuh, truly!!!
The knee jerk reaction to ask Caricom to "help with" (= "pay"!) the bill is admission of both guilt and stupidity.
Anyway, WI cricket never ceases to entertain.
