The West Indies Cricket Board are running out of time to respond to the NCCI's demands for financial compensation, with the India board saying they will not back down in reclaiming losses from the abandoned tour.

The striking West Indies players left their tour to India with five fixtures still to play, including three Tests, and the BCCI have demanded compensation of 42 million US dollars. The WICB had 15 days to respond as of 31 October.

Despite the BCCI being the richest board in cricket, they are showing no mercy to the West Indies board, saying their losses have been massive, from both ticket costs and commercial broadcasting

Does the WICB have the guts to take this to court? Or will they bow and scrape on the ground, and say, "Yes Massa, we will pay, but give us more time?"

I dont think WICB will be taking this to court. Not because of the reason you had given but because WICB is now in a No win situation.

WICB needs BCCI and not the other way around. WICB can take this to court and even win. But result will be that BCCI will become even more aggressive and ensure that there is no Bilateral tours with WI. They might even try to do more damage.

Best course for WICB is to negotiate a way out with BCCI on this and any other way will only be disastrous.

you have to take it to court,if only to arrive at a reasonable settlement figure. No one makes a claim and expects to get all they are asking for. I would offer them $2 million or see you in court.
