ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Former Antigua and Leeward Islands cricket captain, Wilden “Polo” Cornwall, believes cricket within the sub-region needs to be rebuilt and that the injection of new blood into the squad is one way of putting the game back on track.

Cornwall’s statement comes following the team’s innings and 10-run defeat at the hands of Guyana Jaguars in the WICB Regional 4-Day competition within three days on Sunday.

The former batsman, who has applied for the Leeward’s coaching job, said should he be given the role, he would seek to “make changes.”

Why everyone who did not get whatever job they apply for in LI, always bitter?

Absolutely correct, they should have drafted smarter!

By all accounts we are unlikely to see him for quite awhile, he is loved up in North America

He was threatened but apparently not by a cricketer

Dear Kiran Powell,

Please give me a call. By the way don't even call me dude!! Just do this... go ahead and get married to the American girl. This will make you eligible to play for the USA cricket team. You will be a sure pick in the squad I guarantee.

This is a better option than recent revelation that you do not want to play for LI anymore; but you wan to play for Barbados. Do not be the next Adrean Barath and waste the rest of your careen trying to make the WI team.

Cheers!

Cornwall wants Ridley's job and this is an excellent interview. But talk is cheap. Leewards Cricket needs some drastic and radical change.
