A few days ago, the West Indies board released the squad for the ODIs to be played in South Africa starting January 16. There had been rumours flying around as to its composition and the possibility of a new captain.

Well, those rumours are no longer rumours. A press release has confirmed that Dwayne Bravo is no longer captain of the team, and not just for this tour.

The chairman of selectors has pointed out that the new captain, Jason Holder, is younger, and that they see him as the person to take this team forward. But it doesn't end there. Bravo has not just been relieved of the captaincy. He, along with Darren Sammy and Kieron Pollard, isn't even in the squad to play the five games. Now while arguments can be put forward for the reasons to seek a younger captain, however flimsy those might be, what can you say about leaving the three gentlemen mentioned above out of the squad?

This has been going on for years ; so why should anyone be surprised ; I am not ,this
is the usual modus operandi of those in the governance of Cricket in the Region .

You would think that the WICB IS THE BEST RUN & ORGANIZED CRICKET BOARD IN THE WORLD

AND OUR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE MONSTERS .

One of these days when it is announced that
our Players will only be playing against the second tier Teams , I expect that the Players are going to be again the Scapegoats .

Hopefully by that time ALL the people in the Region & in this Forum will see the freaking Light . But it probably will be to late .

Isnt that the simple... WICB went and fell at the feet of the Caricom Leaders to help them with the 42M claim... Now that BCCI has its own problems and the claim for 42M is getting weaker and weaker they dont feel Caricom is needed anymore.

Please explain how you reached this conclusion. From what I know, the BCCI has a strong case. Whether the BCCI will ever be able to collect $42 million from the WICB is another issue, but don't believe the village lawyers on here saying the BCCI has a weak case.

I never saw any documentation of the $42m or it being file as a claim.
My postings shuld be that a 42 m was not officially submitted as a claim.
