Seems like the stars are aligning for Gayle to play full IPL this year.

What is different?

Gayle has never wanted to play cricket for WI except preceding World Cups, for the obvious reasons.

Nothing has changed.

Moving on.

We now have a WICB that condones cherry-picking cool When is the next T20 WC?

WICB should follow CSA and hand out 6-12 or so top-up contracts for players who are likely to play cricket for them in years to come i.e. Powell, Blackwood, C. Brathwaite.

No harm in continuing it.

The WI issue with Gayle was about apologizing for statements he made whilst under retainer.

He was never refused a NOC at any point. He then leveraged Portia and Ralph to negotiate on his behalf to regain his place.

the wicb have therefore operated a pretty pragmatic policy except for one crucial thing. If you take the retainer you then become beholden to them.

From being outside the Caribbean, it looks like they've made a right royal f*** up with contracts and pay.

Still no sponsors for the Regional game.

Pitches still crap.

The best thing would be for the WICB to be scrapped and a new governing boy put in place.

Wasn't that in place even down to club level before Gayle's/WICB fiasco?

In what way?

Why does Dwayne Bravo have a central contract? Doesn't he only play T20???
And test players don't have contracts.

T20 more important than test cricket?
