President of the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) Azim Bassarath said yesterday that he will not be contesting the presidency of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) against the incumbent Dave Cameron.
Cameron has been under attack recently for his role in the WICB’s handling of the recent aborted tour of India which left the Board with a debt of US $41.9 million, and there is a lot of speculation surrounding his continued stay at the head of the embattled Board.

Even St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonzales has called for his head.

However, a defiant Bassarath said yesterday that he was not interested in the position. Bassarath said his T&T Board will convene an executive meeting today and will formalise a position on the WICB’s election. “The directors will all get their chance to voice an opinion and at the end of it, we will come up with a position and as usual we will stick to whatever that decision is.”

Sometime ago Admin . stated that Cameron would be reelected unanimously. I agree with his assessment .

When people get together to commit a Crime , they do not squeal on each other . They have decided to stick together .

Why would they cut loose Cameron , when he was only doing what they told him to do . In this Forum , I have stated on many occasions that who ever is selected as the President of the WICB , in its current structure
has less power than the Regional Boards Presidents .

real life , the people who gave you
your job , obviously have more power than you .

The decision to not go from Dubai to India was not made by Cameron alone .
This is precisely why calling only for Cameron head alone is counter productive . I have been stating this for sometime in this Forum ; and I am not going to change my position in this matter .
