The man who took West Indies cricket from being some sort of happy-go-lucky entertainers, to thinking team-oriented cricketers, would be shocked to hear the post-mortem's findings on our loss to India. Gentlemen, if a Tony Greig had used this term to describe our high-paid, gold-chained-ears-pierced-sun-shaded cricketers, we would be up in arms. But now that this term is used by one of us, to describe us, the time has now come to complete the wrecking-ball job. Gentlemen, let's face it. This horse will not learn to sing. And this is how Brian Lara puts it.

It's time to move away from the 'yam-licking' business – especially at the top of the batting order. The 'yam-licking' business initially might bring a few cheers. But in the end, it brings a torrent of tears.

And look who's getting the plaudits? The 23 year old Jason Holder – the same Jason Holder whom we say is "too young to lead".

Amazing again - more emotional player bashing. And I don't for a moment say that they are blameless. But can't anyone see that the system is broken? Who do we replace them with? The cupboard is empty and it will be more of the same.
Who is to blame for the broken or non-existent system? A system that has been unable to produce one world beater since Brian Charles Lara. Ok. Maybe Shiv and Gayle get a pass.

cannot , and must not be foisted only on the
Players , let me hasten to say , that I do not absolve our Players .

But there is in the Region , a very well known adage : " ONE HAND CANNOT CLAP ".
My interpretation is that the Problems
regarding Cricket in the Region simply cannot be placed only on the Players .

The longer versions of the game require

STAMINA ;DISCIPLINE ; CONCENTRATION ; IN

ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME . NOW THESE

SKILLS ARE NOT INHERENT IN ANY PLAYER

THEY HAVE TO BE LEARNED .

The only method that I a aware of for
Players to acquire these skills is by
playing a lot of Cricket in the longer versions of the game .

I cite this because it aint the players who schedule the matches or the duration
of those matches in all the versions of the game .

THAT RESPONSIBILITY IS VESTED IN THE WICB . In this Forum , I have always cited the fact , and invited , others to check the Stats of Players on Teams ranked above our Team ; & then compare them to the Stats of our Players , the disparity is great .

Therefore the WICB has been derelict in its responsibilities . So It to must be criticized . Yes I am aware that its
Apologists are going to say that the
WICB has no money . My retort has been and
will always be , that I do not know of any
impediment that prevents the WICB from seeking Financial Sponsors .

Cozier's article more accurately defines the problem. It is not about Gayle, or Samuels, or Holder, or Sammy. At one point, some of them were seen as the WICB blue-eyed boys. And it was only through some political intervention at the Board level that Sammy isn't sitting on the sidelines as well.

Let's fix WI cricket by fixing the administration of WI cricket. When that happens, then everything else can and will be resolved. The fish rots from the head.

The problem however , is that the WICB , which is the acronym for the Worst International Cricket Board in the World .
Is aided & abetted by its many friends in the Media & in this Forum .

They have sworn allegiance to those in the governance of Cricket in the Region , and that compounds the problem . Because the
WICB'S Propaganda machine is operating 24/7 in an effort to have the Spotlight focused only on the Players , never on those in the governance of Cricket in the Region .

Clive Lloyd the King of hypocrisy is dishing out to the players the remnants of what his ex wife escaped. It saddens me to see these men, fans hold in high regard are nothing but deep pocket slime suckers, like Cameron he will lose his voice for his time at the trove.

Brian Charles Lara is not hungry, has objectivity and dignity, but I am concern if he will awake with fleas after lying with the dogs. Donald Bradman in spite of his exploits was a very humble man, even picked Sir Gary on occasion. He was a respected voice and player advocate, but he was silenced. How? They gave him the job Brian Charles Lara is after.

Gayle lost 2 years of his career, Bravo's test career was halted and so was Shiv's ODI career, Sarwan's career was halted and what was achieved in those 2 years when all these guys were victimised?
