West Indies offspinner Sunil Narine underwent a fresh testing process on his bowling action at the Sri Ramachandra Universtity, an ICC-accredited centre, in Chennai on Thursday. The reports from the test are likely to be submitted on Saturday, and by Monday, the BCCI's sub-committee dealing with suspect bowling actions will finalise its decision on whether Narine would be available to play for Kolkata Knight Riders this IPL.

This means Knight Riders were forced to grudgingly accept the BCCI diktat which stated that Narine had to undergo tests at the Chennai centre despite him having got a clearance from the University of Loughborough in March.

In all sports Clubs are preferred because that is where their pay comes from and the club is more caring to every need of the players.
Narine is 100% right to choose club over region/ country.

This guy must be a more serious flinger than most of us thought – its interesting how his IPL team battling for his services so much more than the WI team

No one is jumping through hoops, its written in the rules which KKR agreed to and signed off on when they joined up. If a bowler is called for a suspect action in the IPL then that bowler must be tested by the the Sri Ramachandra University, an ICC-accredited centre, in Chenna. THAT IS IN THE RULES.

Ppl miss the part where KKR brought back Botha who himself was almost banned from the game for throwing.

Its surreal.

Narine withdrew himself from playing for the WI and Trinidad, because he did not have confidence in his action. The WI was ready to battle for him to appear in the WC. However the IPL is big money, so I guess there is more urgency that his issue is resolve.

This guy isn't that committed to wi cricket, but he's a great bowler and we need him. I say treat him like a star.

Narine was ICC cleared then WI picked him. He opted out I guess his confidence wasnt up then. Narine also has not dominated the Tests he played in, mind you he doesnt go for runs but the Test bats play him more cautiously than most spiiners. In the arena where time and overs run out batsmen have little choice bug to swing away.
Narine will be okayed since KKR will then be more aggressive if he is not. It will appear too biased if BCCI picks on him - it already appered so due to the time at which he eas called.

how do they administer the test? They make him pelt mangoes off a tree and observe? My concern is that mango season is not for another 3 months

this is the reason he was out of the world cup, because he was threatened and told he would lose his money, because india and the others teams don't want him , polly and bravo playing for west indies

Not up to narine ...the ICC testing centre tested and cleared him..it's the ICC report BCCI have not accepted .


So has the chennai centre cleared him and that will be announced on Monday.
