ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that it has made minor adjustments to the dates for its International Home Series between West Indies and Australia.

All of the matches will now start two days earlier than previously scheduled.

“We are fully aware that there are a number of fans planning to travel around and to the Caribbean for the Australia tour, and we want to explain to them that the change was absolutely necessary, due to a number of logistical challenges beyond our control,” said WICB Manager, Cricket Operations Roland Holder.

SCHEDULE OF MATCHES

May 27-29 Tour match – Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, Antigua

June 3-7 1st Test – Windsor Park, Dominica

June 11-15 2nd Test – Sabina Park, Jamaica

Don't these Bandits atleast owe an explanation as to what these logistical challenges were that caused this change in schedule?

I mean, forget everything else, but airlines these days charge a lot when you change itinerary, and especially if you paying for the family, all of this adds to a lot of money.. & add the Hotel reservations if any need to be changed...

Do the WICB even care about common people?

But i want to first hear from the Board as to what these reasons were.. maybe they are genuine

so lets see what comes out...

Good points, it cost a lot to change your flight schedule when travelling to the Caribbean. It is also interesting that Antigua is hosting two Test matches in the same year or so close in time.

In reply to dayne I believe Antigua is a tour match, not a test. No way that Antigua can sustain two test matches. Since the change from the ARG it has gone from being one of the best to one of the worst places to watch any cricket, far less test cricket.

REASON:
Matches move from a weekend start to a mid-week start cause it is cheaper to transport players, their tons of gear and TV equipment during the week...

Well based on recent atendance averages - it will only affect about 10 people, so not a big issue!!!

If you have ever rescheduled a flight, you would have known, how much that costs...
