Dave Cameron and Wavell Hinds, presidents of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA), respectively, deserve a rousing round of applause for remembering West Indies stars, players who served West Indies cricket brilliantly over the years.

Tomorrow night, at the annual awards function of the WICB and WIPA at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, the red carpet will be rolled out and among those who will have the privilege to walk on it will be not only the outstanding performers of the preceding years, but also Renford Pinnock, probably the best player, along with Ralston Otto, who never played for the West Indies.

The pair of Jamaicans, however, has done more than that.

As Pat Rousseau did in 1996 when, as president of the WICB, he invited every West Indies cricketer and their wives from wherever they were in the world to Jamaica to a beautiful gathering at the Pegasus hotel as a way of saying thanks to them for their contribution to West Indies cricket, Cameron and Hinds will be saying "thank you" to seven of the great ones.

Look at what Recklessness can do . First they condescended to meet with the Regional Governments ;This is remarkable , after snubbing the Regional Governments request to implement the Changes recommended by the Patterson Report .

Then they condescended to have

You are absolutely Right in your assessment . I firmly believe that WE are being Set Up , I would not be surprised if they coerce the Regional Governments to give them Tax Payers money .

If and when that happens , they are going to once again revert to being Arrogant ; Incompetent ; Inept , lacking in Business Acumen ; Lacking in Interpersonal Skills ; Lacking in
Good Governance .

My hope is that the Governments in the Region understand that those in the Governance of Cricket in the Region are never ever to be trusted .

WICB only looking for ways to spend and lose money (42 million) but lack vision to make money for the game. Spending money on the old chaps who and give them a show and dance and a few speech to complement them before they kick the bucket is great but when they have a clear and present party on hand to make money and at the same time celebrate one of the representative of the West Indies Cricket for 21 years they have failed on a grand level again.
If they had say we are going to do a party test for Shivnarine Chanderpaul at Sabina Park I am certain sure Sabina Park would have been packed with spectators, fans and well-wishers for the entire test match regardless how long the Test lasted. That would mean big income at the gates; media coverage would have increase and television income increase and money raised.
Do a story about Shiv and his accomplishments for television and share the proceeds with Shiv as part of his benefit and a reward for his contribution towards the game. This will also encourage the youths of the Great Caribbean Nation to aspire to be great cricketers for our future and build a great West Indies cricket dynasty.
Sell Shiv Chanderpaul shirt and mugs and collectable items which will generate income for the board. Well you get my point but imagine they did this for Lara, Hooper, Walsh, Ambrose just to name a few.

Despite their Education , they are devoid of One necessary thing , it is called : COMMON SENSE .

30 plus years ago , if they had Common Sense , they would have realized that limiting the number of Players playing Cricket in England was a carefully hatched plan aimed mainly at our Players .

Players from other Countries were merely Collateral Damage . If you don't believe that ; go and find out
which team was the Best in the World when England decided to limit the number of Overseas Players playing Cricket in England .

Common Sense would have informed them that this was going to have our Players Idle , and lose their competitiveness Internationally .

Common Sense would have made them form a Regional Pro or Semi Pro League . But because they did not have & still do not have any Common Sense , THEY DID NOT DO A BLASTED THING FOR OVER 30 YEARS .

It is their lack of Common Sense , why they pulled the plug on the Tour to India and are now facing a potential Lawsuit of 42 million dollars .

The above are facts not Fiction , and their Lemmings in this Forum are fully aware that the above can never ever be disputed .

That Bill is likely to be paid by the Regional Governments ; because for about 3 years now WE have heard that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region have no money .

It is therefore profoundly disappointing ,that they Recklessly decided to pull the plug on the Tour to India , without taking into consideration the precarious Financial position they put the BCCI
in .

This was done , not at the start of the Tour , Matches were already played . Yet they pulled the plug on the BCCI , their only Friends in the ICC .

HELL; they did that to their Friends , imagine if the BCCI wasn't their Friend !!! In any real Business Entity , such Crass & Reckless behavior would guarantee that heads would Roll . But WE are dealing with Persons who do not have to answer to anyone regarding their Behaviour .

You are right, people should not criticize everything.

But at the same time, the wool can come over your eyes very comfortingly and before you know it you are at a WIPA event tweeting about "how sharp Sobers looks for his age" in 140 characters or less, when 5000 words on the Governance and Accountability, [Lucky AND Patterson Reports] gets ignored.
