HEADLINE: Khan Buys Caribbean T20 Team Trinidad & Tobago

Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan has bought Caribbean Premier League team Trinidad & Tobago, joining Hollywood biggies Mark Wahlberg and Gerard Butler.
Khan, who co-owns two-time IPL champions KKR, invested in the CPL team along with Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta. The third edition of the tournament will be played from June 20 to July 26.

Question, does the added 'outside' investment mean it's more likely that future CPL events could be held outside the region (e.g. UAE) if it benefits Indian audiences better?

It puts the league in more stable footing financially

May attract bigger names with a bigger purse available

Hopefully that will translate to a higher standard of cricket

and maybe a higher bar for the kids to reach for

bottom line 20/20 is still fun cricket and does not lend itself to development of test cricket like techniques bar the fielding aspect

T20 has no role in the development of WI cricket... it's unconventional and all entertainment. Spicing it up with some masala surely won't hurt

Is he like Roman Abramovic who virtually assembles the players and coach?
