Unlike the manner in which the disagreements were brought to light, the announcement that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) had reached agreement on outstanding issues slipped quietly under the radar. First WICB President Whycliffe 'Dave' Cameron mentioned it towards the end of his address at the joint WICB/WIPA awards held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on June 9, 2015.

President and Chief Executive Officer of WIPA Wavell Hinds later confirmed it in his remarks.

According to a joint release on June 15, 2015 issued by the WICB and WIPA, the overall aim of the previous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the two entities was professionalising the game in the Caribbean. The release further stated that an important part of the new MOU and CBA included creating clear, long-term, stable arrangements for player compensation at all levels and that there seemed to have been confusion, particularly among players, as to the specifics of what had been agreed and how the new compensation structure would operate. The result of that had been a premature termination of the West Indies Tour to India in October 2014.

I think the key is that the players received the summary document. Cameron feels stability is assured.

You really need to look through the Weeds . The stark TRUTH is that Cameron & Hinds spawned a COUP that has resulted in WIPA becoming a Branch of the WIPA .

Cameron & Hinds , frankly made Machiavelli look like an Altar Boy .
First the Players were deceived into thinking that their Contracts were going to be the same amount that they normally get .

Essentially they docked the salaries
of the Players who were engaged in playing ODI Matches in India ; for the purpose of subsidizing paying the salaries of the Regional Players .

The WICB decided to indulge in Robbing Peter to pay Paul . Hinds in his role as the President of WIPA , was sent to India to tell the Players the bad news about their Contracts .

It was at this juncture that there was an impasse between the Players &
the WICB , that ultimately resulted
in :THE WICB RECKLESSLY PULLING THE

PLUG ON THE TOUR ; LEAVING THE ONLY

FRIENDS THEY HAVE ; FACING A

MOUNTAIN OF DEBT ; DUE TO THE SUDDEN

CANCELLATION OF THE TOUR .

Because numerically the number of Players playing Cricket in the Region outnumber the Players representing the Region . In this Forum ; I stated at the time that the Interests of Players representing the Region & the Players playing Regional Cricket ,
converge in some instances & diverge
in other instances .

At that juncture in this Forum I stated that the Players representing
the Region needed to opt out of WIPA
because it was not representing their Interest .

I also stated that Collectively , they needed to seek outside representation in all matters outside
WIPA .

THEY INDEPENDENTLY ,apparently came to the same conclusions I came to ; and have opted out of WIPA . interestingly , for engineering the Coup ; both Cameron & Hinds were handsomely reelected for making WIPA a Branch of the WICB .

Time will tell how long , this cozy relationship will last . Always when there is a COUP , those who engineered the Coup , ALWAYS SEEK TO
LEGITIMIZE THEIR COUP .

The WICB did not depart from this
modus operandi . To Celebrate & legitimize its Coup ,the WICB had a Banquet in Jamaica , ostensibly to honour some of our great Players .

Covertly this Banquet , was to give legitimacy to the Coup engineered by
Cameron & Hinds . So it was very important that former Players be enticed to attend this Function .

In this Forum under the Heading NEWS , there is an article written by Becca , and I responded to what he state there .

My aversion to those who call themselves Sports Journalists , is that they delight in being superficial ; They never get to the heart of the Problems regarding Cricket in the Region .

They prefer to tinker around the Edges , and that is totally unhelpful to Cricket . YES there are
many problems regarding Cricket in the Region , But Becca . et al never offer suggestions or ideas that would solve the problem .

I have always offered suggestions & Solutions , which I really believe if done will work . Essentially ,Talent alone aint going to make our Players & Team the best in the World . Read what I stated there & get back to me .

Our Problem , is that most of the people in the governance of Cricket in the Region are only prepared to mark time and enjoy the Perks .

They have yet to demonstrate that they are very serious about making our Team the best in the World . This is all an Elaborate Charade .

Regarding Cameron & Stability , that in my opinion is just Temporarily . Unless the WICB changes its attitude towards the Players , there will always be unpleasant relationships between the WICB & the Players .

Many journalists get to the heart of what is wrong in cricket. Does it have to be all?

Look name me any of the well know Sports Journalists , who have written an article or stated on Radio or TV , the following :

1. The Standard of Cricket in the Region
is Piss Poor . That was proved beyond t
the Shadow of a doubt by the recently
concluded Tours to the Region by
England & Australia . Now this was not
a Mirage .

2. In my opinion ,it is incumbent on ALL
SportsJournalists to state this fact .
Then state why in their opinion ,
the Standard of Cricket has not
improved in over a decade .

3. They claim to know a lot about Cricket
therefore they need to state what in
their opinion must be done to make our
Players fully competitive in the
International Cricket Arena .

Now their individual & collective failure to do the above , demonstrates to me, that
they lack the testicular fortitude , to do what they need to do .

Let me once again state an axiom ; the
skills that our Players need to win a Series , note I said Series , not a match , winning a Series requires , Consistency , winning a match does not require consistency .

The skills that are required in winning a Series as I have stated can only be learned & acquired by Our Players playing a lot of Cricket in all the versions of the game , especially in the longer versions of the game .

It is in the longer versions of the game . where the deficiencies of our Players are cruelly exposed . Poor Stamina ; Mental &
Physical ; Concentration in all aspects of the game , Etc . In the shortest version
of the game these deficiencies are hidden from view due to the shortness of that format of the game .

As I have stated elsewhere in this Forum ,
A Marathon Runner can run a 400 meters , he /she may not win that race , but they can sure as hell finish a 400 meter race .

However I seriously doubt that any 400 meter runner can finish a Marathon . I state this , to buttress my point that more emphasis must be placed on the longer
formats of the game .

Now I invite you to name any Sports Journalists in the Region , who have stated anything close to what I have stated here .
