WEST Indies Players Association (WIPA) President and Chief Executive Officer Wavell Hinds said a shift in focus of the regional High Performance Centre (HPC) should not be detrimental to West Indies cricket.

The Sagicor-supported HPC, which formerly guided the development of young up-and-coming players in batches in an almost year-round format, underwent restructuring, confirmed director of cricket Richard Pybus earlier this year.

It is understood that the change was largely influenced by funding constraints.

Hinds said the PCL can help to fill the breach.

How come wavell did not point out that Australia England South Africa and all of the other cricket playing territories disbanded their high performance centers/academies once they installed professional four-day competitions??

That comment is pure unadulterated FECES . Hinds is fully aware of that fact . Look , there are Players currently representing the Region , and lauded for their performances , who are making basic elementary mistakes , that bring about their demise at the crease .

It is very interesting , that everyone showered the HPC with praise , and as soon as a title was bestowed , the HPC has disappeared ; a person was awarded with a Title , and young promising Players are denied an opportunity to correct their flaws .

In essence , WE have Regressed , to the point where WE have to compete to get into the ODI Championships .
As I have stated elsewhere , WE have been reduced to Jumping up & Down when by chance our Team wins a match .

Yes I know it is always the Players fault , they play as much matches in all versions of the game as Players on Teams ranked above our Team play .

We have a great Cricket Board ; the best in the World . It provides great
Pitches for the Players ; Great Camps & also adequate Warm up matches .

Obviously then it is all the Players fault , for the current state of Cricket in the Region , and why it has Regressed .
