KINGSTON, Jamaica – As part of continued efforts for the public to participate in the series of town-hall meetings, the West Indies Cricket Board will be in St. Lucia and Guyana over the next two weeks.

Fans in those two territories will get the chance to ask questions and make comments about the sport and how the region can merge its efforts to make the cricket industry more viable than it has been.

The town-hall meeting in St. Lucia will take place this coming Friday, July 17, at the Castries City Hall, starting from 6 p.m.

The town-hall meeting in Guyana will take place on Tuesday, July 22, in the Georgetown Cricket Club pavilion at Bourda Oval, starting from 7 p.m.

WICB President Whycliffe “Dave” Cameron and Vice President Emmanuel Nanthan will continue to host the town-hall meetings, which started in Barbados in May and was also staged in Dominica last month.

“We want to re-engage our major stakeholders,” said Cameron. “We want the public to become part of the decision-making and their inputs can prove to be valuable.

“We’re enthusiastic about continuing to use these sessions to listen to concerns and share information about where West Indies cricket is now, our strategic goals for the future and how the fans can impact upon the way we progress.”

This is simply an elaborate CHARADE.
Having Town Hall meetings to assuage
feelings of the people in the Region .

Those in the governance of Cricket in the Region have condescended to talk to the people . For the WICB to condescend to having Town Hall Meetings , means that sooner or later the WICB wants a favour from
the generally Public .

IT SIMPLY AINT THE WICB'S STYLE TO

CONDESCEND TO ANYONE . HELL THE

WICB IGNORED THE REQUEST OF THE

REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS TO IMPLEMENT

THE CHANGES RECOMMENDED BY THE

PATTERSON REPORT .

So mark my words WE will one day find out what really is behind these
Town Hall Meetings . One thing is certain , there is something that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region want to do ; and they
have decided to launch a Charm Offensive , to get what they want .

I am willing to bet that it aint about anything to improve the standard of Cricket in the Region .
More than likely , they want to get Taxpayers Money to do something , but it aint going to be about making our Players & Team competitive in the International Cricket Arena .

I WOULD RATHER THEY MAKE FREAKING

STRUCTURAL CHANGES TO IMPROVE

CRICKET IN THE REGION .

But that aint ever going to be on their Agenda . because there are only things on their Agenda ; being in the governance of Cricket in the Region ; and ensuring that their power is never ever diluted .

Bangladesh has progressed while WE
have Regressed , perhaps some in this Forum are blind to this fact .
Sometime ago those in the governance of Cricket in the Region boldly proclaimed that WE would see Progress , but the fact that Bangladesh is ranked above us definitely cannot be construed as being Progress .

Look , some time ago the Regional Governments asked them to implement the changes recommended by the Patterson Report . They bluntly refused to do that .

So why do you think that they would
listen to me when they bluntly disregarded the Governments of the Region , who have a lot of Power ; I
on the other hand can only express my views in this Forum .

The gist of what I write in this Forum , is that there must be complete structural changes in Cricket .

Those in the governance of Cricket in the Region must make a very serious & concerted effort to get Sponsors , Regional & outside the Region .

The main purpose of this endevour is
to get funds to improve all aspects of Cricket in the Region . Currently
in Cricket WE HAVE REGRESSED , THERE
IS CONCRETE PROOF OF THIS FACT .

In my opinion , it is the onus of the International Cricket Cabal ,aka the ICC to tell the Worst International Cricket Board
in the World , aka the WICB , that it needs to shape up .

I find it very interesting that the International Cricket Cabal , has the power
and liberally uses it to suspend Associate
Members , like the USACA , yet allows the
Worst International Cricket Board in the World to become a ROGUE CRICKET BOARD .
There is something obscene about this state of affairs .

One of the myriad problems with the WICB is that they don't tolerate criticism, and try to suppress it whenever they have the power to do so....

So, until there's a change of culture in the WICB, these town meetings are a waste of everybody's time.

My disappointment that I have stated many times in this Forum , is the fact that the Sports Journalists in the Region are afraid to exercise their Freedom to be critical of the WICB .

This is precisely why Cricket in the Region , has regressed . In the recent past , Bangladesh Team was the whipping Guys for everyone . But it has progressed to being a Contender in International Cricket .

Currently our Players & Team are in that role , our Team served as the warm up Team for both Australia & England before they play against each other for the mythical Ashes .

This year Bangladesh has beaten three top teams Pakistan ; Sri Lanka
& South Africa . OUR Players won a single game against England , and there was wild celebration about it winning a single match , NOT A FREAKING SERIES ; Caused some
People in this Forum to jump Up & Down , due no doubt that when have not won a Series in the longer versions of the game for sometime .

Frankly WE have regressed , not progressed ; and those in the governance of Cricket in the Region
have yet to not only acknowledge this FACT , they have yet do something about this turn of events .

The truth is that if YOU are your own
Bosses , and are answerable to no One , there is no incentive for you to listen to anyone .

Hell if you can cancel a Tour that is in progress , and suffer no consequences , that very act implies that you have complete freedom to do what you want .

Some people seem to have forgotten , but I remember the fact that the Regional Governments not long ago asked those in the governance of Cricket in the Region to implement the recommendations by the Patterson Report . They bluntly refused to do
that .

Currently , as I have stated in this Forum ; they have now condescended to have a meeting with the Regional Governments , and also condescended to have Town Hall Meetings with the Public .

This is unprecedented , and it makes me believe that they want money from
the Regional Governments . Time will tell whether I am correct or wrong .
