HEADLINE: WICB to create commercial entity

KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) — The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) wants to create a commercial entity to increase the board's revenue intake.

President of the WICB Dave Cameron said the regional board must find other ways to improve its financial status. However, he credits the improved relations between the WICB and the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) for the financial windfall.

"We believe that for West Indies cricket to go forward we need to find a way to separate the commercial from the socio-political issues and so while we'll have West Indies Cricket Board, we'll have a separate commercial entity that will clearly distinguish our commercial rights and sell them according to commercial guidelines," he said while addressing the latest in a series of regional town hall meetings in Jamaica.

Cameron, accompanied by Vice-President Emmanuel Nanthan, said that despite the board's effort to improve the game in the region, some territorial boards and franchises have not been professional in their operations and could be penalised for their tardiness.

"I'm particularly disturbed because the new season for 2015/16 started on August 1 and there are only two franchises that actually have programmes ready for the year," he said.

It seems that Cameron & Nanthan believe that it is April 1st. " Some Territorial Boards & Franchises have not been Professional in their Operations "

The fact is that ALL those in the governance of Cricket in the Region not only are devoid of Professionalism , but
seriously lack Business Acumen .

This is the standard Modus Operandi of
the absolutely Worst International Cricket
Board in the World , aka , the WICB . It is always others , never the WICB , which is in its Members eyes has always exhibited a very high Standard of Professionalism ; and Business Acumen .

THE WICB HAS NEVER EVER ACCEPTED FULL

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STATE OF CRICKET

IN THE REGION ; IT IS ALWAYS RIGHT .

Cameron & Nanthan can fool some people
but they aint fooling me . Everything that
the WICB does has two things in mind . First ensure that its Structure is never ever changed .

Secondly to ensure that its Power & Authority in the Region is never diluted .
It was not the WICB'S fault , when it went to the Privy Council regarding a matter that also involved Digicell & Stanford .

It aint the WICB's fault for the state of the Pitches in the Region ; It aint the WICB's fault when our Players go on Tour , and some Players have visa problems .

The cancellation of the Tour to India recently was not its fault , the current state of Cricket is not its fault . In the
view of those in the WICB , it is a perfectly run Entity .

So then why is it that Bangladesh & Zimbabwe have progressed , while WE have regressed . Cameron & Nanthan need to explain this to the People in the Region .

Apparently this is why they needed to get control of the Players Image Rights . So in
essence this was a part of the COUP engineered by Cameron & Hinds .

I knew sooner or later everything will be
revealed to the General Public . In
essence several Birds were killed with One
Stone, Hence the handsome Reelection of both Cameron & Hinds unopposed .

First they got rid of the Senior Players , that lowered their salary Cap . Part of that money went to pay the Regional Players . Then they engineered a Coup that
made WIPA a branch of the WICB . Apparently now they have taken control of the Players Image Rights , to fatten the
Bank accounts of the WICB .

Then they held a big celebration Dinner , ostensibly to honour some former great Players , but covertly to celebrate all of the above .

These Guys make Machiavelli look like a Saint .It is a pity that they are not interested in making our Players the best in the World . Because while they have neglected the competitiveness of our Players ; Bangladesh & Zimbabwe are Progressing ; while WE are Regressing .

All territorial boards and clubs need to be given training in how to run a business. The clubs are a business.

What business model are they using? Who are their customer segments? What is the value propositions? By what channels do they want or use to reach their customers. Yadda yadda yadda.

There should also be a stiputation that they create a business plan and file it with the WICB for review. Then they should submit an annual report after the year, including financials, cricket programmes etc.

THis is not a social matter.

With all due respect the WICB is worst than the Regional Boards , this is precisely why
WE aint going anywhere .

THIS IS PRECISELY WHY THERE MUST BE

SERIOUS STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN CRICKET .

Unfortunately , all those in the governance of Cricket in the Region do not want to change , they are all freaking happy with things as they are .

This is precisely why I will continuously state that they are only interested in ensuring that the Structure does not change , and their grip & power that they possess is never diluted .

They relish the Power & Perks they possess ; Look at all the Reports they have commissioned & Rejected , These Reports
were rejected , because they do not want
to change neither the structure ,nor their
power .

Frankly they just do not give a damn about the state of Cricket in the Region , and our status in the International Cricket
Arena .

The fact that Bangladesh & Zimbabwe are surging forward while we are regressing
does not concern them one bit . They believe , that one day our Players will magically surge to the top of International Cricket World .

That aint ever going to happen , the sad
thing is that the so called reputable Sports Journalists in the Region support them , wittingly & unwittingly ; Therefore
they are not being criticized for their
colossal Incompetence .

In any Organization there are 3 types of Persons in it . There are Persons who are in it to see what they can get by being in the Organization , that is their main priority .

Then there are persons who join to make a difference in the Organization ,then there
are the dead weights , who join , for the sake of being a Member , they do not attend meetings regularly , and when they go , just go along with the flow .

So in essence , those who are in the Organizations to see what they can get for themselves ; and those who genuinely want the Organization to progress are mainly the people active in the Organization .

Obviously those who are in it for themselves , are continuously trying their
best to manipulate things so that they are
always in control . They are generally motivated by desire to see what they can get , and ensuring that their power is never ever diluted .

two points to note

1) boards and clubs by extension owns WICB not the other way around, if one owns a business you can dictate to the business, not the business to you.

2) how is the WICB force people to adapt practices that they don't use?

My take is that it is the Presidents & Vice Presidents of the 6 Regional Cricket
Boards that have most of the Power in the WICB .

My contention also is that Cameron has
less power than they have , since it was
THEY who gave him his job . This obviously
means that THEY have more power than Cameron has .

Therefore from a logical perspective , ANY
Major decisions that Cameron wants to make
must have the approval of the 6 Board Presidents & their Vice Presidents .

This is precisely why in the debacle of the Tour to India , it simply was not a case , of Cameron acting on his own , HE
had the backing & approval of the Whole
Board .That is the Standard Modus Operandi
of the WICB .
