The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has summoned Test captain Denesh Ramdin to a meeting in Barbados tomorrow. The wicketkeeper/batsman will leave today to attend the meeting where he will meet with members of the WICB, as well as the management of the team.
It is unclear as to what the exact nature of the meeting will be but information reaching the T&T Guardian is that a lot will surround planning for the West Indies next Test tour which is against Sri Lanka in October/November this year.
Recently it was reported that Ramdin was left out of the West Indies team for a proposed tour of Zimbabwe which never materialised. There was no official word from the WICB on the matter but a CMC report later suggested that he was included on the original team.

I think Holder will be the captain for the SL and Aus series later this year
I also believe that Ramdin will make the tours
Sammy should be re-instated as the T20 cappo

The word summons makes it sound so ominious. Employees have a right to schedule meetings with their staff dont they?

I guess the American media has zero integrity given the number of articles that have been written about Tom Brady being summoned to the NFL office.

Ramdin would be pretty shrewd if he skips the Australian tour.A big beating awaits.

Here is what happens in the meeting.
President; Mr. Ramdin, how dare you called yourself West Indies Captan?
Randin; Sir, I was a-painted
President; Painted? what the hell is painted
Ramdin; "Appointed" Sir
President; Oh. well please dont call yourself captain again.
Ramdin; Why?
President; Why? Boy dont be stupid, Trinidadians are not captains they traitors. Look recently as my memory can serves me - Brian Lara called himself captain and you see what he did on the plane to South Africa, he embarrassed the whole nation of our Caribbean people.
Ramdin; But Sir I was not even there.
President; not even there!! well that is why we are here, Next West Indian Captain Bravo and you were there, werent you there?
Ramdin; well yes Sir I was there but...
President; you were there and you cost us 43 million dollars my boi.

I find the use of the word Summoned , troubling , once again WE have concrete
evidence that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region are stuck in a freaking 19th Century Time Warp .
Note they did not state that Ramdin was invited . Once again they have tangibly demonstrated that their Arrogance ; and
utter Contempt for their Employees is
unlimited .
I hope the Youngsters in the Region ,who play Cricket take note of their Colossal Arrogance , because THEY too
in time , are going to experience the same treatment .

Top secret - exact nature of the meeting unknown? Ominous.....

So is it the habitual practise of the
WICB to call a Player to a Meeting , to
have Lunch , Dinner , Tea ???
I suspect that if Ramdin spoke to someone in the Media , it may be because he does not trust the people in the WICB .
Ultimately this is a very sad reflection on the state of relations
between the WICB & some of its
Players ; it seems that the damage is beyond repair .
