ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CMC) – Former International Cricket Council (ICC) president Ehsan Mani has accused Pakistan of manipulating an upcoming tri-series to safeguard their qualification for the 2017 Champions Trophy.West Indies needed to play in the tri series involving Pakistan and Zimbabwe, before a September 30 deadline, as their qualification route to the Champions Trophy.
The tri-series was originally scheduled from August 17 to September 7.

“The fact that Pakistan have pulled out of the tri-series is simply not cricket and goes against the spirit of the game,” stated Mani, ICC president from 2003 to 2006.
Pakistan appear to have reversed their decision after winning their one-day series with Sri-Lanka 3-2 to all but secure their Champions Trophy spot.

The Pakistanis later rescheduled the bilateral series with Zimbabwe to September 24 – October 5.
With 90 points, they are ranked eight on the ICC 50 overs table while West Indies are ranked ninth on 88 points and as such appear reluctant to play such a series that could jeopardise their Champions Trophy qualification.

WI have an excuse now. Pakistan pulled out and kept us out....BUT REALLY....

If we had gone on tour Pakistan would have whitewashed us....and we would have been out of the Champions Trophy anyway.....and we would have been even more embarrassed

West Indies should expect no bail-out from anyone else. They created this situation because of their lack of vision and vindictiveness. Now let them wallow in their own mess!

Every International Cricket Country's
Destiny is in its own hands . To now
state that it is Pakistan's fault why
our Players & Team will not be playing
in the 2017 Tournament is an exceedingly Feeble excuse .

I hope that this crap is not bought by
People in the Region . The fact of the matter is that Those in the governance
of Cricket in the Region , messed up
and can provide no credible acceptable excuse .

The real question is can we sue Pakistan for pulling out of the tour???

What's really "goes against the spirit of the game" is lloyd & cameron deliberately sending a 2nd rate side to SA, and more importantly to the WC.

What would the WI ranking have been if they had won another game in SA or hadn;t lost to Ireland of all people in the WC?

Pakistan didn't fack up the WI, lloyd & cameron did (with commie clapping like sammy in de background).

Several times in this Forum , I have stated the fact that ,much more Cricket
is played off the Field than on the Field . This is just another example of this fact .
