HEADLINE: Drastic changes needed now in WI Test team

Not surprisingly, Sri Lanka beat West Indies 2-0 in two Tests. However, the way it was achieved must give thoughts that some present WI players have completed their last Test innings. SL beat WI in Test No 1 by an innings and six runs. Not even batting twice could WI (251 and 227) overhaul SL’s first innings 484. Test No 2 was closer, SL winning by 72 runs after making 200 and 206. WI could only muster 163 and 171.
These outings showed that WI does not have attitude nor aptitude to win regularly, despite celebrated presence of Sir Garfield Sobers, a visit that must have been bittersweet. The world’s best cricketer ever, despite even his tears, could not cajole WI’s players to better performances.
Possible positives for WI were batting by Jermaine Blackwood and Darren Bravo, bowling of Devendra Bishoo and Jomel Warrican, and all-around efforts of Kraigg Brathwaite and captain Jason Holder. All else who played in those Tests are skating on very thin ice!

'A pertinent comment on Caribbeancricket.com, reference the recent death of former WI opener Basil Shotgun Williams, suggested: Two hundreds in a seven Test career and some get excited about Shai Hope scoring a mere 35. Different times; different standards. Quite!'
I wonder who said that....
I'm not convinced that Holder's efforts are worth getting excited over either...65 runs @ an average of 16, and just three wickets. At least Taylor took six wickets, so I'd switch around those two names.

This is what I don't understand with some of you. Yes, Ramdin must go! Is he the only one? Then why only singled him out? You guys are very prejudice in your opinions. Even if you drop him the other two prospects Hope and Dorwich have failed as well. The team comprises of players and a management crew, yet we point finger at one guy. What nonsense!
Lets face facts, the WICB has a huge problem with it's administration and it's system, yet we put a lot of emphasis on the players representing that mess. The crew (players) is only as good as its captain (administration). "So don't hate the player, hate the game (admin)."

It is easy to criticize the WI team players, but it is much more difficult to suggest who should replace the players who are not performing. Taylor was the most effective fast bowler on tour, Gabriel only opportunity was on a very slow pitch and Roach did trouble the batsmen with the new ball, is there a fast bowler in the region that is better than any of the three that comes to mind at the moment. The only good point I agree with in the article concerns the omission Johnson, he has the third highest Test average of the players available, but he was omitted for a few untried batsmen.

Ramdin I think knows this alsao. I watched him in d 2nd innings of d last teat and he looks non chalant and "wished' to be somnewhere else portrayal.
Something is going on in the dressing room.
Well something is going on in the WICB also. And it does not bode well for cricket in the WI.

So Ramdin must go. I think your sentence is unfinished.
Stop being biased, racial and narrow minded .
Why not say what you all want to say?
Say all indians must go. Don't be afraid.

Who is the author ?
Sounds like the Honorary White, except for the absence of his usual reference to his great knowledge of aviation
So Kraigg is deemed one of the "successes" despite his paucity of runs-in his primary role as a batsmen-and his fluke 6 wicket haul.
Going by his logic, they should do a complete overhaul and pack the team with more 'allrounders' like Kraigg!

If by the word Team , the author is referring to those in the governance of Cricket in the Region , my answer is a resounding YES .
WE need to determine why the standard
of Cricket in the Region is so Piss Poor , that the current standard of
Cricket in the Region is actually below the level of what is required in International Cricket .
To those who dispute this fact , please reflect on the results of the
recent Tours by Australia & England to the Region . Also the performances of our Players in Sri Lanka .
Many blame our Players , but as far as I am aware , I have not heard or
read that it is the Players who are responsible for fixing pitches ; for
determining the duration of matches in the 3 versions of the game .
It aint the Players who determine the
duration of Camps , and whether all Coaches are attending the Camps . It
is also not the Players who arrange
warm up matches .
It also aint the Players who determine who & how many Players go to Centers where their Skills can be harnessed ; enhanced & Honed .
It is those who are responsible for the above must bear the brunt of criticism , for the PISS POOR PERFORMANCES of our Players .
Frankly , I am tired of the Scribes in the Region deliberately forgetting
this fact , they have done and are doing a great disservice to Cricket in the Region .
