They should give thought to the words of their former colleague Mr Baldath Mahabir who recently resigned from the board: "Six million West Indians cannot be wrong."

All too often, issues of the greatest importance get side-tracked and lost in a cloud of irrelevancies.

Unfortunately, that happens a lot in the Caribbean.

For that reason, this newspaper believes Caricom's Cricket Review Panel acted wisely in saying up front that its far-reaching recommendations regarding West Indies cricket are in no way personal.

Note the assurance: "The panel wishes to state unequivocally it has no issues with the individuals who occupy the leadership and composition of the WICB or the territorial boards."

Rather, the panel's recommendation for "the immediate dissolution of the West Indies Cricket Board and the appointment of an Interim Board whose structure and composition will be radically different" from the current "obsolete governance framework" is simple common sense.

It is a good Editorial, but I do not believe the Board members would like what it said, usually people do not give up power for the " Greater Good " especially if it means giving up a prestigious position. The Caricom Committee would have to force change.

While at it, they should even change the name since the term West Indies, as coined by the British back then, is no longer functional.

A better name would be Caribbean Cricket, more consistent with the modern era.

caribbeancricket.com could be sold to the new organization for a reasonable asking.

I agree with the name change, Columbus made a mistake and the Caribbean people have endorse it by keeping the mistaken name. At the moment they are also keeping the WICB that also have poor skills on management.

Well Columbus might not have named the region the WI, but he thought that was where he was when he landed, but the people after him just ran with the mistaken name.

I have Issues with ALL THOSE , who commission several Reports , and then Completely Ignored those Reports .
THEY can never ever be forgiven for
fooling the People in the Region by this egregious & Blatant Charade .

Designed to bamboozle the People in the Region into thinking that they intended
restructuring Cricket in the Region . If it was up to me I would put them in Jail .

It is utterly beyond belief that for over 2 decades the people at the helm of Cricket in the Region wilfully refused to change the archaic Structure of Cricket in the Region ,
and WE must believe that they were so freaking Blind that they could not see that the Structure needed changing ???

Hell I have been stating that in this Forum since 2003 , If I could see that they could also see that ; this is why I believe they commissioned
these various Reports . Ignoring the
Reports in my thinking is totally inexcusable .

Because it is a blatant LIE . THEY of their own volition messed up Cricket in the Region , and that is putting it very mildly . Good Riddance to the Lot of them . I hope that they can never ever again hold any position in Cricket in this Region .

The point , that seemed to have escaped many here , is that by refusing to restructure Cricket in the Region , those who did that are complicit in making Our Players & Team Bottom Dwellers . So to let them
down easy , in my opinion is totally unacceptable .
