It was inevitable that the high expectations for the latest review of the management of West Indies cricket would quickly turn into the turmoil that has typified its sharp decline over the past two decades.
The conviction of Grenada prime minister Keith Mitchell, head of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) sub-committee on cricket, that no objections would be raised by the WICB president, Dave Cameron, to the conclusions of the independent panel, chaired by the principal of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus, Dr Eudene Barriteau, appeared reasonable enough in the circumstances.
The panel was, after all, jointly established by Mitchell and Cameron at a meeting last April; the WICB appointed three of its five members. Mitchell was adamant that Cameron give the assurance then that the WICB would accept all its points.
In reality, such confidence was misplaced.

Too early to call.
You really believe that all CARICOM Prime Ministers will allow this guy to crush them like a bunch of political lightweights?
To quote a respected poster here "watch de ride".

I am beginning to have doubts about your mental acumen. Every-time you post you seem to be sinking into the abyss (cesspool) of ignorance...
I am De Courtesy and I approve this sentiment.

I detect a sense of "backraness" in Cozier's article.
As Pondie sey, the politicians can't even get cricket right in their own backyard yet they dumping on Cameron!
This little Mitchell guy is growing way beyond his britches!
As I said in another post, he has way too much time on his hands.

POINT

Allow me to repeat what I have stated
in this Forum before and will continue to do so . It does not call for One to be a Rocket Scientist , or a Brain Surgeon .
WHAT PRECISELY WAS THE OBJECTIVE OF
THE WICB TO COMMISSION THE LUCKY REPORT
THE PATTERSON REPORT ; THE WILKIN
REPORT ; AND THIS LATEST REPORT
WHICH IT ESTABLISHED WITH
CARICOM ?????????????????????
Mr. Cameron et al in my opinion over the years have bamboozled not only the Governments in the Region but also the General Public ; by failing to implement the salient features of these several Reports .
It is high time that the Regional Governments take the ICC , & the WICB
into Court , the ICC for failing to
make the WICBC adhere to the principles of good governance .
Obviously the WICBC for its Maladministration of Cricket in the
Region . The WICBC quite frankly is riddled with Arrogance ; Incompetence ; Inetness ; Stupidity ; Lack of Good
Governance ; and a Total lack of Business Acumen .
Let me state again , that I find it exceedingly troubling , that the ICC
can dictate terms to the USA Cricket Association , but cannot bring itself to tell the WICBC that it is not only tarnishing its own image , but also the Image of the ICC .
My take is that the onus is on the ICC & the WICBC to prove why the WICBC should remain in the governance of Cricket in this Region when at all levels it has been & is an abysmal Failure .
Frankly there exists an abundance of evidence to prove that what I have stated is not a fiction . Bangladesh has Progressed , in the longer versions of the game while we have
seriously Regressed .
That is the question that they both must answer satisfactorily to the People of this Region . I for One seriously doubt that the ICC & the WICBC can do that .
