WICB Press Release:

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – With the increased demand for information regarding the value of cricket events to the Caribbean economy, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) commissioned an economic impact evaluation on the 2015 England tour of the Caribbean. The information garnered focused on the three islands where the Test Matches were hosted Antigua, Barbados and Grenada.

Following a comprehensive report done by REPUCOM, the figures show the positive impact the tour had on the host islands. The overall direct economic impact for the region was estimated at US$59.8 million at an average of US$5.1 million a day spent.

This in my opinion is merely a ploy by the WICBC ; to try making itself relevant , and it must not be fired . I hope the Regional Governments do not fall for this , yet another charade .

The Stark truth in my opinion , is this

: DO THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS WANT

OUR PLAYERS & TEAM TO IMPROVE ;

OR IS IT MORE IMPORTANT TO GET

20 PIECES OF SILVER .

Leaving the current WICBC in office
without any Structural Changes will be in my opinion , a total betrayal
of the Rich History of West Indies Cricket .

I very seriously doubt that if
Sir Frank Worrell was alive that he would approve of the Stewardship of
Cameron & Co . I sincerely hope that
the Regional Governments tomorrow , do not get sidetracked by these tactics of Cameron & Co .

Ultimately the People in the Region are going to find out whether the Regional Governments have the Testicular Fortitude to stand up to
the Bullies in the WICBC .

The WICBC is playing its last card , with this ploy , and I hope that the Regional Governments will swiftly reject this Crap . My perspective is that it is more important for US to
get Cricket on the Right Track in the Region NOW ; than chasing money from England .

Once WE have a new governance of Cricket in the Region , and our Players & Team start being on an upward trajectory . WE will make a hell of a lot of more money .

A few years ago New Zealand Cricket
was in crisis , and it set about reforming itself , by doing serious
self examination . It has emerged from that crisis , with renewed energy & focus .

Now this is stark contrast to the WICBC , which has commissioned several reports , and on receiving them swiftly rejecting them . It has been doing this for years . Meanwhile there has not been notable improvement in Cricket in the Region .
The Standard of Cricket in the Region is PISS POOR , Regionally & Internationally . Now this did not
happen overnight ; and the WICBC has done very little to improve the competitiveness of our Players & Team . This is in sharp & stark contrast to Bangladesh which has steadily
improved , while our Players & Team
are BOTTOM DWELLERS .

P.M.Mitchell et al ; do not be bamboozled by the attempts of Cameron
& Co to stay in Office . If you allow them to stay in Office ; You & the Others in the Committee will go down in Infamy as being WIMPS .

I urge You & your Board to remember
Sir Frank Worrell , and what he stood for , when confronting Cameron & Co ;
who have been and are absolutely the
Worst International Cricket Board in the World .

Why do you think governments bid for certain tours?
You really think these governments don't know the revenue that come from these tours?

It is indeed very interesting that only now the WICBC has seen it fit to commission a Study , I believe that this is only because of its meeting with the Regional Governments .

My perspective is that this is a
Tactic employed by Cameron & Co , in an attempt to remain in the governance of Cricket in the Region ;
in essence they are attempting to prove that they are indispensable .

Cricket in the Region can & will go on , without Cameron & Co . None of those currently in the WICBC are of such stature that they are indispensable . Frankly Cricket in the Region will be a hell of a lot better off without them .

It is ironic that they are now talking about Money . But they did not think about the debt that they left the BCCI in when they Recklessly
pulled the plug on the Tour to India
that was in Progress ,without even attempting to salvage the Tour ; leaving the BCC with a mountain of Debt .

That is not how persons with Real
Business Acumen behave . So I find it astonishing now that the WICBC is now
talking about the economic impact of
England tour to the Region .

I have no doubt that if the standard
of Cricket in the Region had improved
& our Players very competitive ; more
money would have been made . My view
is that the Onus is more so on the WICBC than our Players , regarding
the fact that in the longer versions of the game ; Our Players & Team are
Bottom Dwellers .

One of the main questions that people need to think about is this :

WHY HAS BANGLADESH IMPROVED IN ALL

FORMATS OF THE GAME WHILE OUR TEAM

HAVE SERIOUSLY REGRESSED IN THE

LONGER VERSIONS OF THE GAME ?

It seems to me that some people have
never heard ; or believe in Freedom
of Speech , which is accorded to persons who live in Democratic Countries . I am simply exercising my
Right to express my opinions .
