West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) Vice-President Emmanuel Nathan says the WICB is in constant dialogue with the CARICOM Committee on Cricket and are mindful that there is a ‘disconnect’ between the fans and WI Cricket as a result of the poor performances on the field.“We are prepared to make some changes as we did following previous Governance Reports. However, on the basis of a corporate review and legal advice, only the Shareholders of the WICB can dissolve the Company- the WICB. And similarly only shareholders can appoint new Directors to the Board, whether they are independent or shareholders directors,” informed Nathan.The Cabinet in Dominica, headed by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, this year appointed Nathan as Director of the Citizen by Investment Unit, while he is also a Director of the WICB and a member of the Dominica Labour Party.

Nathan completely misses the point....

Mitchell is not saying that CARICOM will dissolve the WICB. He's saying that the WICB will not get a cent from CARICOM until they disband themselves.

Neither is Nathan saying that. He said they are prepared to make changes on the recommendations of the report and on the basis of a corporate review and legal advice there is only one way in which the WICB can be dissolved.

So the Company - WICB can still be dissolved if the Shareholders decide to go that way..... ball in their court now

WICB receive money from CARICOM?

The shareholders have been themselves dishonest with the WI peoples.
They blame the WICB only when we the patrons cause a stir.
i would like to state here emphatically that I want my country TRININDAD & TOBAGO to withdraw their representatives from the WICB and to move a motion at the next meeting to dissolve the WICB.

The WICB has become a cloak and dagger outfit with only the members of that outlaw board lavishing on the mediocre performances of our kids.
We the people demand representation and control over the new CRICKET WI.

That's why I have stated elsewhere that put all the CARICOM people in a room with the WICB and watch the dynamics. The same CARICOM people who calling for the dissolution will be the same ones clamoring to keep it in its current form with a few cosmetic dress ups.

up the formation of the Pakistan Cricket Board .


Nathan is simply trying to hood wink people . Just look up Wikipedia,regarding the formation of International Cricket Boards . As
I stated here frequently Governments
are empowered to take control of
Boards if Boards are not acting detrimental to Cricket .

The control is Temporarily , until

The only thing that Governments cannot do is control the Operations of the Board Forever . There is another Country that the Joint Committee set up by CARICOM & the WICBC, stated in its Report .

with Egotistical People who are totally ignorant of the fact that :

That Demands that The Business of
Cricket be taken Very Seriously ".

It is the colossal failure of those in the governance of Cricket in the
Region to understand this why WE are
where WE are in Regional & International Cricket .

Currently there can be no dispute
regarding the fact that the Standard
of Cricket in the Region is Piss
Poor ;and this is also reflected in the fact that in the longer versions of the Game , in the International Cricket Arena , Our Players are Bottom Dwellers .

It is interesting that these days , some people are beginning to state what I have stated in this Forum continuously :

Our Players in All Formats of the Game are Playing Less Cricket than
their Opponents in the International
Cricket Arena . Generally when I have stated this fact , the Supporters of the WICB dismiss this by stating that the WICBC has no money .

But suddenly a lot of things are being rolled out now ; evidently the
WICBC has either found Gold , or won the Lotto . I guess they are also to busy trying to save their Hides , why the Town Hall Meetings have been Suspended .

It is impossible to do what needed to be done years ago ; in even 5 years . ALL this aint Rocket Science , If you
do not invest in having the Pitches properly prepared , having all players properly prepared by playing more Cricket ; having Proper Camps
etc .

It seems to me that money was there all along , they just did not want to spend it on ensuring that the Standard of Cricket , in the Region &
Internationally be competitive .
