St. John’s, ANTIGUA – West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President, Dave Cameron, today (December 23) confirmed that following discussions with BCCI President, Shashank Manohar, that the West Indies will host India in the Caribbean in 2016. This agreement is subject to the WICB and the Players Association giving a joint commitment to complete, at a later date, the tour which prematurely ended in October 2014.

“Cricket remained the centrepiece of our discussion and we are happy to be at this juncture,” added Cameron.

Real good news.

Now there's no remaining reason or reasons for the Cameron/Pybus' isolation of the (missing) WI Stars.

Before we know it Pollard will finally make his test debut, an event which will signal the beginning of the turn-around in team West Indies fortunes.

Things are certainly looking up.

humiliated by Australia in their current Tour to Australia ????

I don't think so ; WE need to take a very , very serious examination , of the Structure of Cricket in the Region , and EVERY Aspect of Cricket in the Region , From Kiddies Cricket to Players representing the Region .

In my opinion WE must have Academies
in EVERY Country in the Region , I am not talking here about Fly by night Operations .

ALL Primary & Secondary Schools must
have a period where Youngsters are
taught the correct basic Rules of ALL
aspects of Cricket .

In every Country in the Region there must be U-15; U-19 & U-23 Teams . Many promising Youngsters are falling through the cracks after U-19 .

Ultimately there must be proper Academies in every Country in the Region . Until that happens ALL existing Academies in the Region must be open to EVERY Promising Youngster in the Region .

WE must look at Cricket from a holistic perspective . The idea & the
mentality of I got mine , and you got to get yours aint going to help Cricket in the Region .

Frankly that mentality is one of the reasons why the freaking standard in the Region is PISS POOR , and its proponents are exceedingly shortsighted .

Let me once again state a fact , 2 or 3 Teams perpetually winning the Regional Tournaments has been happening regularly for years , but that has not raised the standard in the Region , so that must be discarded .

The whole Structure regarding the Governance of Cricket in the Region at every conceivable level must be
completely Restructured .

I have no problem with Cricket getting money from the Regional Governments , but those in the governance of Cricket at every level must be compelled to answer to the Regional Governments regarding every decision they make & want to make .

This story sounds slightly different

'BCCI has decided to revoke the suspension imposed on bilateral tours with the West Indies by clearing India's tour of the Caribbean in mid-2016. The approval is subject to the WICB committing to complete last year's abandoned tour of India....This was followed by a brief lull as the BCCI itself underwent a quarrelsome transition in its administration with initially the late Jagmohan Dalmiya taking over as board president, followed by Manohar. The change in guard allowed Cameron to buy more time, and he sought an audience with Manohar, on October 17. A ray of hope emerged the next day, after the BCCI's working committee was updated on the WICB request. Besides tendering several apologies, Cameron and WICB CEO Michael Muirhead also conveyed to the BCCI top brass comprising Manohar and board secretary Anurag Thakur its inability to compensate financially. Instead, the WICB expressed its desire to make up for it by touring India for a series in 2017. After the BCCI's annual general meeting on November 9, though, Thakur had remained non-committal. "There is still plenty of time to go and play in West Indies. We will decide at the appropriate time. They met us recently - the CEO of the West Indies Board and the chairman (president) of the West Indies Board. They have given their viewpoint. We will take a call," he had said.'

I hope Mr. Dwayne Bravo and his band of merrymen ...er knuckleheads are NOT a part of the completion of this tour that they prematurely and stupidly aborted. But reading about the remarks of the head coach, Mr. Simmons, I wouldn't be surprised to see these guys in these matches. And that would be a shame!
