ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Radio stations in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago have confirmed they will broadcast the upcoming NAGICO Super50 championship which begins on Thursday, January 7.

The broadcast is being coordinated by GEM Radio Five Limited, part of the One Caribbean Media Group. The commentary team is headed by noted commentator, Andrew Mason and he will be accompanied by Philo Wallace, Tony Gray, Colin Murray among others. The full group is 10 and will have ball by ball commentary on all games live from both St. Kitts and Nevis and Trinidad and Tobago.

Lighting a Fire under the WICBC is producing Wonders . In my opinion they still need to be fired .

If this dispute with the Regional Governments , is resolved in favour of the WICBC , within a Month they will return to their wicked ways .

I'm often on the road and it's always great to listen to cricket commentary while I'm driving. Takes me back "home" in a sense

I don't know where you live, but radio is still being use in NA.
Its a part of medium that get to certain people in the population, as Music alluded to, he can listen while driving.

It is important that persons driving or
unable to look at TV for various reasons can listen on Radio .

My take is that all this is an attempt to ultimately get Fans going through the Turnstiles to see Regional & International Matches .

One problem that has not yet been fully addressed is the fact that the Standard in the Region is PISS POOR ; that fact is reflected in the performances of Our Players in the International Cricket Arena .
This is something that should have been done years ago .

My guess is that doing something now
to raise the standard of Cricket in the Region will take at least 10 -15
years before We can see Progress .

I don't think any radio station in the region, will carry games without sponsors.The BBC maybe the only station still owned by the government, all other stations are privately own.
Even government own station, need sponsors for their programs, it just a part of the world we are living in

All sports radio 24 forkane 7 is HUGE in NA

So much so that you have some sports radio programs being broadcast LIVE on TV

Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith First Take
Tim and Sid
Bob McCowan Prime Time Sports
Etc etc etc

Is de weirdest thing. Men sitting in a studio with headphones on talking sports and somehow that is compelling TV.

Ah guess if poker is a spectator sport, why not all sport radio?

And doh talk fun TV. The Sports Television landscape has changed dramatically.

TSN now has almost exclusively women sports desk anchors. You could count the number of male anchors they have on one hand.

And the women stunning.

But radio eh going anywhere. Not in NA anyways. If anything, all sports radio listenership increasing...not decreasing.

The first time I went to a NCAA football game was in Montana, driving in every radio station was promoting the game
I am a Serius supporter, so I know about radio.
I haven't listen to local radio in my car for sometime

Tune in radio (an app you can run off of your phone) have most Caribbean stations bro

In addition, Caribbean super station has its own app

There's an app called Trinihub that has the majority of Trini radio stations

You come here preaching the same thing day in, day out; nothing new, just like you accuse the people you condemn of. "those in the governance of cricket in the region'; "people hone their skills by playing more and more cricket". Now, I will never doubt that basic fact, that the more cricket people play, the more their fitness and concentration skills may develop; but that only depends on if the players involved are willing to benefit from those opportunities. In the days when cricket was a religion in the West Indies, like it is in India today, that was not a problem, boys played everywhere, all the time, with anything for bat and ball, and people used to come to see a match even if it was two ants playing against each other; cricket was our life.

Today, it is no longer so, and one of the monumental challenges is overcoming the physical fragmentation of the islands in an affordable way. All the old talk on this Board, and i have never seen some of you address that(a few honest and wise ones did). All you repeat each day is implement the Patterson and Wilkinson reports. I doubt you read them, but if you did, explain how this will improve our players performance on the field.

I wish to offer you one challenge, when last have you sponsored a team in your country of birth? Easier still, when last have you gone home and chose to sponsor a young talent in your country? You see, cricket is one of the most expensive sports and many of the youths who are talented cannot afford the high costs of equipment; costs is one of the greatest disincentive, and even in my time we found it difficult to get guys to play unless we raise lots of funds to cover.

This may be your opportunity, help sponsor a team; in your neck of the woods, come together and help support a team with some well needed gears, or just sponsor a player or two. Do that, instead of calling on politicians whose very policies create such high levels of unemployment and suffering that people in their countries cannot even afford to think about cricket. The noise in the market is not the sale my friend, there are realities out there; I realize some of you do not even know the countries you come from.

I find myself sometimes watching Mike & Mike in de morning and I'm like seriously dude
But yeah I do look at it.

And the games will be sponsored in part by Nagico, and others. so no one should think that they ain't already sold the spots for the games either.
