Set 184 to win in 50 overs, the Pride made 184 for six off 42.5 overs.
Red Force vs Scorpions
DEFENDING champions Trinidad and Tobago Red Force started the defence of their Nagico Super50 regional cricket crown with an impressive 84-run victory over the Jamaica Scorpions in a day-night encounter at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain on Thursday.
Allrounder Marlon Richards was the undoubted star of the show, scoring 31 hard-fought runs and taking five wickets for 36 runs as the Jamaicans folded for 137 in 42.5 overs, chasing 222 for victory. Earlier Red Force opening batsman Evin Lewis slammed a top score of 74 to enable the home team to a challenging total of 221 all out (47.2) overs) against their opponents as the 2016 Nagico Super50 regional tournament bowled off on Thursday.
Jaguars vs Volcanoes
THE Leon Johnson-led Guyana Jaguars got off to a sour start in their NAGICO Regional Super50 campaign, after falling to the Windwards Islands Volcanoes by one run compliments of the Duckworth Lewis method. Playing in St Kitts and Nevis, the Jaguars held the Windwards Islands to 214 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
The pick of the bowlers for the Jaguars was former West Indies U-19 spinner Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai with 3-32 from his 6 overs which included one maiden over (6-1-32-3). Steven Jacobs went for three for 40 runs (10-1-40-3).
