St. John’s, ANTIGUA - The Caribbean will have an additional set of activities within the next year from cricket as the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) gets set to host a number of regional and international tours. These tours will include the visits of South Africa and Australia for a One-Day International Tri-Nation series; Caribbean Premier League and the Indian tour in July; England early next year; and Pakistan thereafter; the cricket calendar is set to be active.
The last economic impact survey done from a tour of the region by England in 2014, reported considerable benefit to three countries in particular. The upcoming games will be hosted in a few more venues/countries and there is considerable expectation both from the fans as well as from the economies that will benefit.

Wasn't World Cup 2007 supposed to have considerable benefit to the region as well? How did that go?

Before any thought or decision to involve the Regional Governments :
CAMERON & CO MUST GO , THEY MUST ALSO
TAKE THEIR 89 YEARS OLD STRUCTURE
WITH THEM . BECAUSE THERE MUST BE A
COMPLETE RESTRUCTURING OF CRICKET IN
THE REGION .
There must also be a Higher Authority
over the Entity , which obviously must have a different Name , I propose calling it CRICKET WEST INDIES .
As I have stated in this Forum many times , prior to the 2007 Cricket
World Cup , which was held in the Region , the Bums went to the Regional Governments asking for assistance to host the 2007 World Cup .
The Regional Governments built New Stadia , Renovated existing Stadia , Spruced up the Grounds ; using Taxpayers money ; The 2007
World Cup was a smashing success from all perspectives .
About 2 years ago the Regional Governments politely asked the BUMS
to implement the changes recommended
by the Patterson Report . The BUMS
refused to do that , and to show their utter disdain of the Regional
Governments , they authorized another
Report , called the Wilkin Report , which they also swiftly Rejected .
Now this aint a figment of my imagination .
The Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC
probably believes that this is the 1st April , but it aint .
I have no problem with the Regional Government giving them Financial assistance , but first they ALL have to leave , never again to have anything to do with Cricket in the Region .
As I have stated in this Forum already , they must take their 1927 Structure with them . They have shown themselves to be the Real Pirates of
the Caribbean .
They rebuffed the Regional Governments , about 2 years ago , now it is the turn of the Regional Governments to return the favour .

But Honestly Chrissy , why would Business Houses lend their name to an Entity that is always mired in Controversy ??
The problem is that this asinine 89 years old Structure has turned all of them in to Arrogant Idiots . I find
it absolutely preposterous , that
they will now be begging the Regional Governments for Financial , Aid after snubbing the Regional Governments when they were politely asked to implement the changes recommended by the Patterson Report .
Worse yet after the snubbed the Regional Governments ;they then commissioned the Wilkin Report . These are really not serious People .
So now they want the Regional Governments to help them . I hope that the Regional Governments are
not so Stupid to entertain any idea
of helping the Real Pirates of the
Caribbean .

I really do want to read what you write, but you just defeat the purpose. No need to write the same thing twice when responding man.
Can't we have a debate without you answering different questions with the same answer?

It is for emphasis , and the fact is that whether I repeat myself , or not,
what I write cannot be factually disputed .
If you have a problem with what I state
you are not compelled to read what I write . Frankly I find your comment to be trite .
What I state is valid for many of the
problems regarding Cricket in the Region , now if you do not agree state why & what I stated is not applicable to the problems regarding Cricket in the Region .

It would have been but boy was that a perfect disaster due to India/Pak crashing out. Eng got cinderella's that year too right by Ire? I think we will get lucky the next time we host.
Didn't you do well though?

Sometimes LESS is MORE.
I would have stopped right there..
I don't ever advise someone to invest in any instrument if those of influence over said funds are less than "trustworthy".
common sense really...foxes shouldn't guard the eggs of and sleep in the chicken coop too.

To Quote President Obama :
"I LIKE TAKING A GUN TO A KNIFE FIGHT"
In essence I want my point indelibly seared in peoples minds . The point
is however the solutions to all of the problems with Cricket in the
Region are the same , therefore I have to state the same things for all of them .

My comment on another thread is applicable here as the two are related.
This is what happens
WICB CALLS ON CORPORATE CARIBBEAN AND GOVERNMENTS TO SUPPORT CRICKET DEVELOPMENTWed, Feb 17, '16
When this happens
Nepotism, corruption and the grab for power continues unchecked. Unfortunately the administrators dont know that they don
They expect other people to bail them out.
If you take a substantial amount of your operating revenues and invest in the PCL then you SHOULD EXPECT SOME RETURN FROM FUNDS INVESTED and that is not happening. What benefits will corporate Caribbean derive from "supporting cricket development"? What new initiatives have the WICB marketing gurus unleashed in the last 2 years? Does WICB PRODUCT/TRACK RECORD "add value" to private sector entities strategic plans or must they depend on benevolent friends?
